4 nights in Bangkok. Looking for a place close enough but a bit away from the bustle. Conscious of cost as we spend little time there and with family in tow we booked 2 rooms.

Reminds me a bit of an old Hollywood movie sign.

The hotel is about 350 metres down Soi 8 from Sukhumvit.  It’s a quiet street and area.  Low rise only 7 floors and a pool on the roof.  7/11 3 doors down - of course.

Reception area, and reasonable buffet breakfast.

we got a suite and a regular room.  To be fair the hotel is a bit tired but not run down. Everything works and it’s clean  and shiny

It’s set up for longer term stay particularly the suites with plenty of work from hotel space and a kitchen with hot plates and microwave  and basic crockery.  And a washer dryer.  Dining table for 2

The hotel has parking underground and a drive in area so it’s easy to get in and out without dooring a motorcy.

Hopeland boasts an internal and carpark guard.  Both pleasant.
The buffet is simple but adequate.

Close to the Nana BTS and all the nightlife; Soi 8 also has some classy restaurants (Kinaree) and good bars down by Sukhumvit

At about 2800 per night for the Suite (including breaky) and 2000 for the regular room it’s quite good in my opinion.

Would repeat if travelling with family but maybe a bit of a walk to Nana for some.

Soi 8 is one of best locations, it’s got everything including my fave Bkk restaurant/bar - DET5.

Good review. I always stay at the Eleven hotel which I really like but at 2400-2500 baht without breakfast I started to look for alternatives. Also I prefer the restaurants on Soi8 than the ones on Soi11.

I'm probably going to decide between this one and the Stable lodge which seems to be slightly cheaper and closer to Sukhumvit. To bad the Adelphi suites is over 3k baht per night. But this one looks like a great option indeed

Damn, this looks really nice. Not at all what I expected. Anyone know if the standard rooms look this nice? Love the flooring. Looks cozy.

I was going to stay at the iCheck Inn Residence hotel on Sukh Soi 2 because it's close to Nana yet in a quiet, residential area. And I'm a light sleeper, so quiet is key for me. How is Hopeland in that regard?

What was your choice? I always stay at Stable Lodge. Mainly because it has balconies (an annoyingly rare feature.)

You know, it's funny you mention Stable Lodge. I've really been wanting to try it, but it was either Sold Out or unavailable using British Airways Avios or Chase Ultimate Rewards points. So, literally one minute ago, I completed booking a Superior Double at Hope Land. Could have gotten a Suite, but it's more points and I don't really require one. A 35 m2 room is sufficient for me. It's a refundable booking like the iCheck Inn one. Going to look at Hope Land on a map more closely to see which I'd prefer. In terms of the room quality, Hope Land may be much better.

Given that the booking is refundable, I can always change my mind and upgrade to a larger room. Or if the staff is nice, they might give me a complimentary upgrade. I asked nicely in the "special request" notes and sometimes that actually works. It doesn't hurt, certainly. If a hotel has unsold inventory, that's perishable. Why not give it to someone nice who'll appreciate it? :D

Yes, I enjoy my balcony at March hotel in Pattaya which I've booked for the better part of the month of November using points. It's a novelty for me, since most of the hotels I choose to stay in don't have them. But March hotel is incredible value for money.

Ok, I'm staying at Hope Land. I cancelled the iCheck Inn Suk 2. What pushed me over the edge is that I saw a 7 Eleven close by on Google Maps (sign in upper right hand corner in photo below). Sold! :D Also looks almost residential as well, similar to Suk 2.

I’ve stayed in On8, and the park Royal in that area. Both good.
