Intro

October is sometimes referred to as a ‘shoulder month’, and by this we mean a month, which sits between low season and high season. In Thailand, tourist numbers traditionally begin to crank up November all the way through Songkran in early April. During this in-between month, some hotels put prices up into high season, but others don’t so there’s still plenty of bargains around.

Many people are put off coming to Pattaya in October because statistically it’s the wettest month. There is also a fair amount of humidity around. My personal experience has been that on a two week holiday in October. You will get four or five days when it rains, but the rain storms will last only an hour or two and then get sunny immediately afterwards. I always holiday in October and intend doing so again this year.

Outlined below are my top picks for the month of October, I’ve stayed stayed in almost all of the hotels listed (and those I haven’t, I’ve checked out the rooms and had friends stay there). All of the hotels listed are in my view at least ‘quite good’ and some are ‘superb’. The list includes 3/4/5 star hotels and I’ve picked the ones that I think offer the best value for money in this particular month (prices per night based on a one week stay):

Beachfront, older yet elegant - style wise think Versace meets Liberace😀

August Suites 3 ⭐️ (Superior Double) - 1025

Nice hotel though getting a little dated, good second rd location

Acqua  4 ⭐️ (Superior Double) - 1177

Classy place, stunning pool, small rooms, rear facing can be noisy

Adelphi 3 ⭐️ (Deluxe) - 1193

Solid hotel, good customer service, in good location

Shilat Avenue 3 ⭐️ (Superior Queen) - 806

Best value 3 star in town, small rooms, great location

D Hotel 2/3 ⭐️ (Standard) - 948

Award winning traditional Thai style, located right on Buhakow

DeBua 4 ⭐️ (Double Economy) - 1,287

Modern, decent rooms, top location…note ask for low floor as only one lift

LK Residence 3 ⭐️ (Studio) - 1,297

Near the action, this classy hotel is a few years old, but still good value

247 Boutique 3 ⭐️ (Superior) - 869

Good hotel, nice rooftop pool, ask for front room and avoid Treetown noise

The Globe 3/4 ⭐️ (Standard 246) - 1,313

Ultra classy independent hotel, but no lift…spiral staircase 

Vogue 2/3 ⭐️ (Superior Double) - 813

Mates recommended this budget hotel on Lenkee, I’ve never stayed here

April Suites 3 ⭐️ (Superior) - 829

Decent hotel, but a little way from the action

Pratumnak

Raddison property, nice pool, lovely rooms, breakfast…meh

Unique Regency 3 ⭐️ - 810

Very decent budget hotel, outstanding customer service, close to GCs

Jomtien

Decent budget/mid range hotel next to Rhompo beer bars

Fifth 4 ⭐️ (Superior) - 1,976 (inc breakfast)

Excellent mid range hotel, note the above price is for the new wing rooms

North Pattaya

Manhattan 4/5 ⭐️ (Deluxe) - 1,565

Classy small hotel, offering good value, but off the beaten track

Grande Center Point 5 ⭐️ (Superior) - 3,161

True Luxury by Terminal 21, beautiful rooms, no alcohol on sale

Summary 

Out of the above, I would, in terms of sheer value choose Shilat hotel for central Pattaya. If money was no object I would be choosing the Arbour from the above list.
