I stayed at the April Suites again during my recent trip in July. Thought I would do another review as I stayed for 2 weeks, not just a few days like December.

I did not intend to stay at the April Suites this trip, but I was able to use my frequent flyer points and pay nothing out of my pocket. My preference would have been to stay closer to the LK Metro area.

Anyway thoughts and photos. Arrived around 10pm at night. Checked in easily. Credit card details left for 2,000 baht room depoisit fee, never actually charged to card and all it took was a quick phone call on check out to establish room was in order with no damage or missing items.

My room was on level 4 (same as December) except this time I was ocean side (which meant afternoon sun). 

The bed mattress was different to my previous room. It was hard. So hard, I ended up with back issues which a decent massage the next day fixed. I asked about a mattress topper if available could I please request, no problem to do this, and improved my quality of sleep no end.  

Shower. Plenty of hot water, no rainfall, and the pressure went up and down a lot, but it didn't effect the temp much. Cleaners . Room was clean. Bed linen good and clean. Somewhat inconsistent with providing toilet rolls, shampoo and the bath gel. Air Conditioning. Brilliant. Filter was clean. Efficent, never had problem finding the right temp. It was also quiet. I noticed when the room next door was occupied (Vacant most nights) that the Air Con in that room was noisier than mine and had a slight vibration transmitted into the room. Balcony small, used primarily  for clothes drying, enough room for a table n chair for the smokers

Gym. see photos, small, Sauna, did not use. Pool, unlike December when I could not get a lounge, this time apart from myself there may have been one other person using it.

It's a great hotel for proximity to soi6. Baht bus to soi 6 2 minutes walk maybe. Walk to beach rd for a baht bus to Walking street, or cut throu the rear entrance of the August suites and grab a baht bus down Soi Buakhao.  Plenty of food options near by (recommend Jasmin's Cafe on Central Pattaya rd). 10 minute walk to Big C or Pattaya Central.

 

Internet. I did use the hotel free internet a bit, but I don't do anything other than browsing etc, so fine for that.

TV. plenty of channels, not all are very clear however. The ABC Australia I tires to watch as they had AFL on but it wasn't the best quality transmission.

Construction. Something to be aware of over the next few months.

The last photo is the Astor Hotel I believe on 2nd road. Construction almost finished, infact one ot the cranes was dismantled whilst I was there.

Photo 1 & 2 are on Central Pattaya road, view from my balcony. Piling works woke me at 7am early in my stay, but nohing other than trucks carting soil, I expect construction will ramp up.

Photo 3 and 4 are more concerning. Very close to the Hotel and the block has just been cleared, so expect something happening soon.

In room safe. Bolted down. Large enough for my Apple Mac 14.

Guest. Id needed to be left at front desk. Every time they asked this visit. In December they didn't.

During the day the gate to the car park is open, so you may take your chances and sneak in that way to the lifts by passing the front desk. I did it when i went to the Laundry across the street a few times. No one notice or said anything

Most hotels don't charge for one guest. Family resort type places in jomtien/Naklua *might*. But it is very rare. In central pattaya the hotels would go out of business if they start charging joiner fees

I booked for 2 people, so one guest was never a problem, including overnight. I didn't try to bring two ladies home for the night however.  No problems with have more than one guest during the day. Multiple ST are fine

thanks for the info @Jagaar  @charlisexyex. i never had any issues when i used to stay in condos or guesthouses .

Does someone have any more in depth experience with the internet in this Hotel? I actually never had issues with it in my past hotels but I need to do some video calls on my Laptop from time to time so I want to make sure that works fine.
