If BMs find it useful, I will try and create a ‘top 12’ picks for the various months ahead. The first is for September, so low season prices apply. I’ve stayed in each of the hotels listed and in my view they are all at least ‘quite good’ and some are ‘superb’. The list includes 3/4/5 star hotels and I’ve picked the ones that I think offer the best value for money in this particular month.

Great list and some hotels which I am looking at for my trip in a few weeks. Stayed at March and it is unbeatable value for that price. Shilat Avenue also looks good as per a recent video I saw from Chuesedays youtube (one of the few pattaya hotel reviewers)

Thanks for this list. The great thing about Pattaya is there are many modern (ish) hotels available in good areas which cost as much or maybe a couple hundred baht more than old guesthouses. (No judging just not my scene)

Not sure about the others but I can not express enough how much I would appreciate this sort of post.

@LOTTELLEE WINNA, when I check rate for Adelphi I see 1500+ in their website and agoda even more. Where did you get 1277?

The first thing to say, is that prices change every day and even during the day. The second thing would be to ask did you follow the procedure I recommended above (going through TripAdvisor, then into Agoda)? I’ve just repeated the process for the Adelphi, and the price has changed since yesterday, indeed it got over ฿100 cheaper, I’ve now got it at ฿1,175.

Yes I followed the exact process as you described. In fact, I am doing it for some time since I read  it from you. No luck. Normally I get better rates when I write directly to the hotels.

Just tried it again and got a price of ฿1235, I can’t understand why you’ve been quoted a price of ฿1500. If you give me the exact dates you’re trying, I will check it.

You will get different prices depending on the location you are booking from.

If the OP is looking from his country he will get different price to you looking in Thailand.  Also usually in Thailand the prices on AGODA are quoted excluding taxes whereas in Europe they have to be quoted including taxes.

No the prices I’m quoting are inclusive of all taxes (see the two screenshots I have above which are inclusive of all taxes and fees).

I’m not sure about different prices from different countries, what I do know is that going into the Agoda app via TripAdvisor is (usually) cheaper than going intp the Agoda app directly from any country (I’ve done it from the UK, Thailand, Australia, and New Zealand).

It is showing 1200-1300 for most September dates to me. I have been traveling to South East Asia for about a decade and always use agoda except under exceptional circumstances.

Sorry, I wasn't sure what "with taxes" meant! I have always seen either inclusive or exclusive of taxes.

Just tested the via Trip Advisor and direct and cheaper too from Ireland via Trip Advisor.  However, in the past I have open up Agoda on different browsers on my computer and found variations on price, sometimes significant by just using different browsers, but I will also check via Trip Advisor going forward.

Nice post. I particularly liked your comment regarding the pay now and cancel later option. That’s definitely the way to go in terms of minimizing cost.

Thanks for the list. My last few trips I've stayed in Pratumnak to get away from the bar/street noises. Im coming back in two weeks and looking for a hotel in town for a few nights. I couldn't sleep with booming music nearby. Any hotels you stayed in that were central enough but quiet.

Oh yes pay later usually dings me around 5% if I am not mistaken. I always use the pay now option

TBH I am with you on staying outside the city centre, I make perhaps 8-10 one week trips to Pattaya annually and at least half the time I will stay in Pratumnak. I like the peace and quiet, but I also appreciate the GC’s right on my doorstep (as well as the various classy restaurants, etc).

Regarding where to stay in the ‘belly of the beast’, but which is also quiet, here are a few suggestions.

Top End: Amethyst, Globe (front facing rooms), Blackwoods (rear rooms - not Soi 7)

Middle: Amber (pool view rooms) or Adelphi

Budget: Nalanta

Thanks again @LOTTELLEE WINNA. My target arrival date is 26 September and checkout on 5 October. One thing might be that I am doing the process using computer but not the app in the phone. I will try with the phone and apps now and see if I get anything better. I am also trying it from Sweden, where the quoted price could be different as mentioned by @Shamrocksam.
