No point hiring a fast bike in Pattaya - 1)the roads are too busy to drive 2)the police will pull you over and u will have to bribe them even if you have done nothing wrong, they will find an excuse 3)too many drunk idiots also driving on the roads 4)if u damage the bike or it gets stolen(which the owner often arranges) then u have to pay for it and they keep your passport as a deposit..5) no need for a high speed bike when tuk-tuks(like 3-wheelers or "tempus" in India) are everywhere and so cheap.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction - "it was just the internet.." is not an excuse.

Driving imported bikes like r1,ninja,hayabusa..IMHO This is kinda over kill!!! (Sorry to hear about your penis) Just busting balls mate!!! There really isn't enough Road to even enjoy a bike like this in pattaya its very congested with scooters, cars, people, the odd cat or dog plus other crazy drivers. Nothing sez fun like 8.1kph on a super bike Awesome!!!! Not to mention you are going to say rolling ATM to every traffic cop that see's you "And they need money for tea or water "it hot out" and rest assured they will ling your bell" I would suggest a scooter (Blend Brother Blend) would be fine or take a Baht bus it will take you any where you need to go.on the cheap back to the super bike LLS=(Likely superbike scenerio) dam need to add that to the acronyms thread!!! Get on the ATM go to beer bar have a couple, barfine a chick, roll past the BIB with said hot chick in tow they check you out Drinking no license= Soi 9 police station=lotta Baht day or whole week or trip for that matter shot to shit!! It would be advisable to have a Thai drivers license also they don't like international drivers permit their, oh and some medical insurance!!!!! But as they say in LOS "up to you"

Cheers

damn roid you type fast you got me noooooooo!!!!!!!! 555555

I did it all the time, i recommend the guys outside mike shopping mall beach road

but..... tell them you stay for one week extra than you are... and take the bike back and tell them you have to do visa run (pay them what's owed) and tell them you will be back in a day. That way they wont give you charges for chip marks underneath, make sure you look down there for marks.

buy one of these to reduce the risk of theft, they are cheap and easy to carry

They will insist that they take your passport (and i dont blame them) but argue it out, you will win. Take a photocopy to speed things up.

Make sure you take it for a test run around the block first as half the time there are faults, check the bike over first for things like chips in the tyres, well lubed chain that isnt too loose etc. Take some photos of the bike first just in case.

Have fun, i used to... but remember 2 young farangs just got killed on a fast bike on second road, one of there brains came out (taxi driver told me)

Make sure you get their number so if you get stopped by a police man for having a dodgy bike, they can argue it out... also ask them if you are ok to take it outside pattaya, sometimes they say no, as the bike is dodgy and they pay local police

They rent u the bike. You hire it. They get someone to steal it because they haev extra keys and Pattaya is small-they will know easily where u stay/hang out. The police will probably help them take the bike. then u will have to pay for a new bike. Plus when u cannot ride the bike in Pattaya then what are you going to do with it? Up to you but the risk far outweighs the positives IMHO.

I rented big bikes collectively for 5 months worth of holidays, i never had such a problem. If in doubt give a different hotel name and use a lock.

I rented

R1's

fireblade 1000 cc

v-max 1200 cc

i love supersport bikes and got a nice bike at home...

i was wondering if i should rent a bike at koh phan gan last trip - kawasaki zx9r... didnt do it

when i think about it now i just wanna say this points from my biker's view (not mentioning things like other ppl and insurances and a lot of other issues who speak against it):

1st - streets are often bad & there is a lot of dust

2nd - there are no good tracks...

anyone who is seriously into supersport bikes won't be happy with riding this bike in pattaya or most places in LOS... if you just wanna show it, thats something else... but riding it? senseless...

I always rent a CB1300 from one of the 2 places outside Royal Garden plaza toward walking street. Both great people, bikes are clean and safe and ive never had a problem. I always bring my own helmet and golves with me too, I would never trust a thai helmet...pay around 500thb per day for short rental
