I witnessed something at March hotel this morning that really bothered me. A tourist was berating the clerk at the front desk for not being "friendly" I saw how the young woman squirmed and certainly lost face because the guy kept repeating himself and telling her how April hotel and August hotel were so much more friendly in his treatment. There was absolutely nothing specific in his complaint. All he talked about was their lack of friendliness. Who the hell cares about that? I'm sure his room was fine and the housekeeping I've found excellent. If he didn't like it he should have just checked out and gone somewhere else. I'm not the most brilliant person in the world but even I know that you don't cause a Thai to lose face. That's what he did. The girl eventually slightly raised her voice  in her apology. Yes I find her a little bit cold, but she's always been professional with me. I'd like that bastard to figure out how to work somewhere where he had to use a second language. I sure hope he wasn't an American because I would hate to be connected by locals with that fellow.

Go read their reviews on google maps. It seems that the reception is noted to have rude staff.

Have stayed there and noticed this. Honestly I stay at budget hotels usually around 30 to 40 usd per night and I don't expect 5 star level warm welcome door holding and bell service. But you would be surprised as to how many bad reviews of budget hotels mention these points as negatives. Insane stuff.

I had issues with one of the receptionist there as in she was kinda rude when I asked her a few things. And I mean rude not indifferent. Not listening to the question, dismissive instantly, not making eye contact, doing her own thing while I was talking etc. Honestly I was a bit miffed but just went about my day. The rest of the staff are all nice because I greet them, thank them etc and they smile back. Generally the case even in most budget hotels here.
