Hotel for Sightseeing

Going to Bangkok with my own guide so no need to be close to the red light districts other than maybe a stroll down to see what its about.

Need somewhere close to the sights or where its easy to get around from.

 

Which area should I be looking?

Silom - Sathorn

Sukhumvit Road

Downtown - Siam Square

Or?

All areas would be fine but I suggest Siam Square. You could try the Novotel and they have a couple of newer places such as Pullman Bangkok King Power and VIE which have got good reviews.

 

You'll be close to excellent shopping Siam is the BTS interchange which makes getting around pretty easy.

Every where I looked it got great reviews, super friendly staff, great hotel but not the best location but I am a taxi guy so its not the biggest problem. 2000 a day for a premier room could have gotten a deluxe room for 1500.

If you are there to see the typical sites then you will want to look at the riverfront. The old temple sites and museums are down there. You can walk around Chinatown and things, take boats up and down the river.
