I went to the one near Soi Buakhao when it was open and the pastries were nice

Good for Jomtien. Sad for me 😅 (as they were located on Klang near my house.)

I've only had pizzas from them. Highly recommended.

Are they open for lunch? 555

:) As they’re on the corner they actually front onto Thappraya Road so they’ll be noticed by passing traffic and have a better chance of custom than if they were tucked inside the Complex.

I was up much earlier than usual today for some reason and was in Foodmart by 8am having already had my toast & coffee in my condo. So by about 11am I was ready for something else and walked here to give it a try.

There’s one entrance on Thappraya and another at the side from the Complex. However, that area has always been commandeered by mototaxis and also used to park other bikes so I think most people will end up having to use the one entrance at the front.

There were about half a dozen customers sat on the terrace outside though I don’t know how they could stick it today as it’s incredibly humid and uncomfortable outside. I’ve just got my third shirt of the day from the wardrobe

There were another 3 or 4 customers inside and there are 3 different types of chairs/tables to choose from. Good aircon inside.

I ordered this:

and an Earl Grey tea:

They’d done a really good job of tying the teabag around the handle and it took me a while to get it untangled. Do they expect people to drink it with the teabag dangling from the cup? :) Anyway, they use Twinings so that’s a plus for them.

The yoghurt wasn’t as I expected:

IMG_6732.jpeg

It was more like a smoothie with fruit on top. I could have used a straw once I’d eaten the fruit. It was nice enough and refreshing. It didn’t taste too sweet so, hopefully, they didn’t add sugar. I wouldn’t order it again though.

Service was very pleasant and friendly and also quite quick. One or two teething problems maybe. They don’t keep the napkins and condiments on the tables but just bring them as needed. The waiter forgot to bring me the napkins and was most apologetic when I asked for them. Also, they brought me the wrong bill at the end.

They obviously haven’t finished the work on the premises as there was very loud drilling from the kitchen area throughout the time I was there. If you’re planning to visit then I’d give it a couple of days.

Overall I think this place has potential and has a good chance of succeeding. I’ll definitely try it again but the Continental will probably be the more regular place for meeting friends, largely due to cost and the menu choices there.

Finally, a few pics of the counters I took for a friend’s wife:

I might have bought a loaf of bread, but all the pastries are around 40% more than I'm prepared to pay. 70bht for a choc au pain ......... No way!

Thanks Davidge for the info 👍

Seems a real French backery ! With baguette, croissants ...

Many says they are French, but there is nothing French inside :)

And the name :) Cococanelle ... Coco Chanel like :)

The other one I know in Pattaya is La Boulange on the 3rd Road near Big C Central

And Café Tartine in Bangkok

Tried both and good !

The other French bakery in the Complex, O Delices, is also run by a Frenchman and has breads, pastries etc as well as French cheeses and does meals. Nowhere near as extensive a menu though. It’s cheaper than this new place as well. I called in today to check for sourdough for a friend’s wife.

(Menu prices could be out of date but gives an idea)

Yep, that second one has the right prices.

Both those sourdough breads look good to me.

I can’t find current prices online but these are the Grab prices:

They will be cheaper in store, probably significantly so as the cereal bread I photographed today is 185 on Grab and 130 in store.

If the quality is good, I'll be using it on a regular basis during my next stay. Good extensive menu, nice presentation.

Good extensive report with nice photos too as it’s another quality option in dining in the Jomtien area…that’s needed. I’d give both a visit..O Delice and Cocoa wen I’m back there to compare…but this new Coco has got prime location there and looks very nicely designed…so you will be paying premium prices.
I used to buy my croissant and pasties from the open air bakery at Theppasit and thapprya rd corner as nice and reasonable with many ppl buying them too.

I've eaten there twice already. I live very close by. I had the beef tenderloin sandwich yesterday, and today a small pizza. Both were very good, not great. I will have both again. The standouts were the baguette for the sandwich and the crust of the pizza. They've got their breads figured out, it would seem. The place is very comfortable, the service was great. I am very happy to have this new option.

Thanks for all the reports and photos.  This looks like a nice addition to the food options in the neighbourhood.  Looks like it might be nice for lunch or a light dinner.  I hope the wine they are selling at 250Baht/glass is good quality and a nice large glass.  I like wine with dinner.

I’m nearby for 2 months next winter so I will be checking it out.  I’ll compare it and O Delice for my daily croissant and baguette purchases at the end of my morning walks.

I hope this thread will keep going with some more reviews of the food as the place evolves from opening day.

I also took home an almond croissant.  It was okay. Just my opinion but there are better around.

Today I went for the beef burger. I'm an American burger lover and I honestly didn't expect this burger to be that great. It was very good. One of the better burgers around, and the bun was outstanding. I think it was 360 bt, including chips and a bottle of water. Will definitely repeat!

That's a pricy burger given Friendly is just outside the front, 120 baht for beef bacon and cheese burger with chips is my go-to.

Anyway, I grabbed a 1/2 baguette and some sweet things from Coco and they were all excellent.  That pizza photo looks great so I'll give that a go next.

The staff are obviously still learning as they go, but they are doing a great job.

Pizza looks good. Da Nicola across the street might have a contender for my pizza cravings.

Great with more options in the area, but we arent exactly starved for bakeries this part of town lol.

I hear what you're saying.  I've had Friendly burgers.  They are a decent option for the price. It will fill you up. However, I would be very disappointed if I paid 360 baht and got a Friendly burger. I was not disappointed in Cococanelle's burger. Apples & Oranges.

I went again yesterday with one other person.  It was quiet with only a handful of customers. No pics this time but food was good - omelette.

Service was poor. I think the waitress was new and, sadly clueless. Other staff didn’t seem to know what food was for which customer when it came out of the kitchen. Kitchen appears unable to prepare more than one order at a time so the first omelette arrived, a little slowly, and then there was a long wait before the second omelette was delivered to the table.

I’m not sure I’ll be hurrying back - even if I am very kindly treated to breakfast as I was yesterday. :)

I popped in for dinner a few nights ago, decided on the Penang curry with rice.  Yes it's expensive but the food quality was excellent and it was quite a big feed for little old me, I struggled to finish it.  I would have liked some vegetables instead of all the chicken, but everyone has their own ideas of what makes a great curry.

It was quiet (only 1 table of 4 when I got there) and the service was overly attentive, I think the staff were bored.

I'll go back for the breads and sweet things for sure, mains probably not, although I'm still keen to try the pizza at some stage too.
