Couldn't find a thread for this bar, but it's one of my favourites in Pattaya.

History: Opened April 2024 next to American Bar & Grill. Monna Bar spent many years on Soi 8, next to the massive Anchor Bar, but eventually closed in the aftermath of Covid and less footfall down the Soi. She briefly had a small single unit bar on Soi Buakhao, opposite TreeTown Night Market, before selling that and moving to the current unit on Soi Lengkee.

Monna Bar was the first bar I went to in Pattaya - December 2017. She's always been a great host, and is at the bar most nights from 9pm. At midnight on Wan Lai in 2024, roughly a week after opening (the bar was still somewhat going through renovations), she declared 'all whisky is free' for the rest of the night, which suited me as my go-to drink is Sangsom Soda 😁

The atmosphere and decor is, IMO, one of the most welcoming in Pattaya. Bar length red vibrant sofas and large comfy chairs give it a slight jazz bar vibe. You also have the choice of sitting at the bar if you want to be in amongst the girls, or outside if you want to people watch.

It also has a pool table. Although well maintained, guys who are really into their pool won't like the way it plays.

Drinks are competitively priced for the area, incl. Lady drinks. Haven't been there in 4 months, but I doubt that's significantly changed. Ladies have always been friendly too. Haven't barfined any from there, so can't comment on that, but I've been pretty playful in the bar on more than one occasion.

I wouldn't say it's a 'newbie' bar, but they are very accommodating. I don't think you can go too far wrong having a few beers there.

I stay in Lengkee all the time, I can confirm Monna bar is a nice bar, ladies are varied and welcoming, although they can get a little annoying asking for drinks, but that's hardly different from any bar,   Monna herself is a very nice lady, classy and upmarket imo, they have live music certain nights, easy music, nothing loud and blasting, pool is played all night, the ladies are very accomplished players, I will be there in 3 weeks time....

You're not wrong tbf. It does say rum on the bottle.

I've asked 2 different Thai people if it's rum or whiskey - they both said whiskey. Hence where I got the misconception from.
