Hi all, so undecided about where to stay so any advice would be appreciated. I've whistled my choice down to whisper and areca. I have stayed at areca many years ago but never whisper. The price difference would be about £170 less at the whisper but without breakfast. I quite like the idea of choosing where to eat breakfast instead of having to use the hotel where I stay.

I know areca is fantastic for location but I don't mind a 10 minute walk to get to LK.

Anyways any advice would be welcome. Thank you.

Here are reviews I’ve started and to which other guys have added. It’s very difficult to compare these hotels. Areca is a resort type (rooms built around the pool), and Whisper is the rooftop pool variety. Both hotels are good - Areca is much improved following the refurbishment…the rooms are really good. The Whisper offers large rooms and superb value. My personal choice would be Areca, but Whisper is decent too.
