The daily average last year was closer to 38 deaths per day.

Late Dec / early January is seriously dangerous, averaging 43 a day.

So the first day of Songkran is not as bad as normal but it’s only 1 day, there’s always the fear it will jump.

With so many motorbikes / scooters on the roads, and the at times, very unpredictable and horrible driving habits of most, the toll is always going to be high.

Already through Day 3.

98 Deaths - 757 Injured, I think is the running total.
