Hi guys

Am looking for a refreshing change from Thai food.

Can anyone please recommend a good Western style Chinese Restaurant in Pattaya? Have checked out reviews on Let's Wok American Chinese Restaurant but  have never dined there. Appreciate any reviews or recommendations. Thanks guys.

I’m only aware of Let’s Wok and Kung’s doing a limited menu as far as restaurants are concerned. There is also a delivery only UK style Chinese called Pimmy’s.

I’ve had deliveries from Pimmy and Let’s Wok. I thought Let’s Wok was significantly better but neither came close to the takeaways I used to get in the UK, especially the quality of the chicken used.

Western style Chinese food is very subjective... Many countries have Chinese immigrants that started restaurants all over the world and they adjusted their cooking style to the flavor palette of the countries they went to...

I'm Dutch, our Chinese restaurants are very influenced by Indonesian Cuisine as it was once a Dutch colony and there a lot of Indonesian decendants living here. Chinese food in the UK is very different. Not worse or better, just different. Very few of the dishes in the UK would be found in a Dutch Chinese restaurant. Same in Germany, completely different from the UK or Dutch versions and those three countries are almost next to each other. Although I never been to a Chinese restaurant in the US I'm sure that's completely different too compared to European Chinese restaurants.

Let’s Wok at Steak and Co.

Only had one Chinese meal at Kung’s but wouldn’t bother going back.

It’s a Chinese restaurant though it’s not western style, but if you want something other than Thai it’s worth a visit.

Thank you for your suggestions and recommendations guys. I can appreciate western Chinese is different around the world. Dined at a restaurant at Chinatown in London which had a different flavour to the Chinese in Australia. Last year I had a Chinese meal at a Restaurant on 2nd Rd Patts expecting western style. The schezuen chicken bowl was filled with red and green fresh chillis.

Will try one or two of the recommendations above and report back.

Cape Dara Resort also has yum cha and it’s absurdly cheap, all you can eat for 800 baht last time I looked.  Not western style obviously.  Ming Xing.

Dragon Belly is quite good.

The Shanghai restaurant lost a lot of their quality after the owner changed.
Too many 'no haves' on their menu now.

I'd give the nod to Let's Wok on lengkee as well, it's the same style as UK takeaway Chinese. Very nice, I go there now and again.

Real Chinese food should be categorised in their provinces/areas like Sichuan Canton etc

Chinese food outside china should be categorised with their local influences like Americian Chinese , UK Chinese etc

btw you cant find fortune cookies in China! 🤣

I love Canton food , simple and fresh

Noticed this the other day and it reminded me of this thread. Hungry Panda, another western Chinese restaurant in central Patts (Xzyte Square) and available on Lineman for delivery

I tried these on Grab Food tonight.

The menu is a little more limited than the other British/USA type Chinese Let’s Wok and Pimmy’s.

The chicken in the main dishes was easily the best I’ve had from the three and the rice was good. I thought the chow mein was better than Pimmy’s but not as good as Let’s Wok.

Prices about the same I think, maybe a little lower as they have offers so now.
