What is your go to accommodation for a high degree of luxury while being close to the baht bus route and guest (1 or 2) friendly? I want to find a hotel that is more upscale for this trip in June. Thanks for your thoughts!

You can consider Somerset which has some decent reviews here ..

All below are very guest friendly and with high level facilities.

Hilton: (too much) expensive except Hilton status offer, best swimming pool for sure,

Somerset: best cost/value IMO,

I liked Amethyst for the very good location and facilities (room design is not optimized for me) but price is now more expensive than Somerset and does not deserve this cost IMO.

and maybe the new Melia which looks promising (I will try this March), very designed and the first combined beach club in this list (open soon). Prices are below 3 others above now but like Amethyst when it opened.

I do not try Avani but looks ok too (rooms are not very new but swimming pool area looks amazing). Price is sometimes above Hilton (red flag, no way).

The presidential or jacuzzi suite at Page10. I cannot think of a better location. Superior even to the Hilton in that regard. Situated by both baht bus routes (Going WS, Soi6), 1 minute walk to 7/11, TT exchange & Hemingways,  4 min walk to Treetown, 7 minutes to Bronx pizza and LK Metro. Very good laundry & coffee shop over the road. Decent swimming pool rarely occupied by guests. Decent bar by the pool and in the lobby.

Very good location indeed this Soi10 and quiet. The presendential suite looks very nice indeed. But I see at 450€ per night for this March. 500€ this June. This is more expensive than everything I see so far. Jacuzzi suite at 250€-300€ with same periods. Not sure you get enough for such price with the hotel facilities.

Do you get special pricing?

No, never stayed in either of those top tier rooms and I would agree the price is astronomical. I settle for the grand king deluxe, and it's all I could ever need. Huge bed, huge shower/bathroom, big wardrobe, desk, fridge & counter top, shelving, cupboards, balcony. Restaurant onsite for room service if you desire, though I have never used it. I did have a decent mojito at the bar though. Guest friendly and courtesy call from the lobby when your guest is departing.

That said, Hilton is just a block or two away and in a similar position with regards to the baht bus routes.

Up to you.

I like Page10.

I like the Hilton very much and stay there pretty much every trip, but I do NOT like the pool area.  In my experience, the water is freezing cold and you battle shade for a good chunk of the day.

I LOVE that it is attached to Central - so easy to duck over and get something to eat.

Pretty much stay at Avani most trips, for the past 18 years or so … terrace suites are nice and comfortable, resort style pool is excellent with a swim up bar, excellent breakfast and fantastic location with entrances from both second road and beach road.  Hotel staff very attentive and discrete.  The price is what it is; not a top priority for me.

Oh really? I love the design and the view from the swimming pool.

I confirm water is very often too cold, this is the same with Somerset and Amethyst so far as I have experimented in December, March or June.

Having a nice place to chill is indeed some part of the day a challenge for most of hotels mentioned above.

Nice at Hilton that you can go in and out via Central elevators durnig the day. So bypass security and lobby. Not that it's a big deal as security and lobby people couldn't care less. I find some of the security guys a little annoying with being overly friendly. Just leave me alone...that's why I tipped you I don't need someone to chat and push elevator buttons for me.
