Hotel ideas? Prices have roughly doubled in the last 12 months...

The Hilton wants $8k for a suite in March/April (19 days). This is about double what I paid 1 year ago when the taxes are factored in, which are percentage based. It started really going up in the fall 2024. I looked at Hilton alternatives. There are not many near that level in central Pattaya. Avani is about the same price. Next tier down is about half the price (holiday inn, amethyst, mytt, somerset). I think I will try the Somerset. Looking for a 1br suite. Any ideas? Not sure there's the same price increase at all price points and condos. It's frustrating. Will see if it holds in low season. I want to try a condo at some point. But base and edge have a lot of negative feedback. Not sure what else there is that's higher end.

last low season , rooms were almost free and the next low season will be same

i will never come in Pattaya in high season again, thing of the past

Email LK Pressident direct, got a price of 1200b pn over Songkram.

They were cheaper than usual over Covid and the following years.  So they haven’t necessarily increased in price just returned to what they used to be. Luckily there are hundreds of accommodation options in Pattaya and even dozens at a higher end level (you mentioned Hilton) so you’ll just have to shop around.

The headline in this thread is a little misleading. hotel prices haven’t doubled, maybe one particular hotel has raised its prices for the particular week the OP wants to stay…but generally speaking prices are pretty stable. I say this with some confidence as I make around 8 different 1-2 week visits to Pattaya annually.

Bottom line - Pattaya hotels offer some of the very best value for money on the planet 👍

Maybe I’m exaggerating. There is no easy way to check. But I checked pricing for my dates at all the popular 4+ star hotels in central. 200~500 a night or 4k to 10k USD with taxes for 19 nights. A few are sold out. This is for a suite. Sure feels like double the range last year.

I usually stay at 4 star hotels and with the exception of the Amethyst which has rocketed in price, the hotels I use have remained pretty stable. In the last few months I’ve stayed at Blackwoods, DeBua and most recently the Lewit (Radisson group). The latter hotel I’ve just finished staying in 2050 THB nightly for a pool view 30+sqm room.

Admittedly these are quality but not true luxury hotels - perhaps the very top end have gone up…I genuinely don’t know…but as for the rest…cheap as chips.

I've been watching the price of my preferred hotel for 4 months or so and it has stayed basically the same for high or low season.

I prefer to book directly with the hotel but this time I was able to get almost 40% off via one of the apps.

The good deals are definitely out there, just have to be patient and continually checking the apps.

Yeah I looked at Hard Rock ($10k...), Amethyst, Hilton, Avani, Somerset, Aden, Arbor, Baraquda, Amber, Mytt, Holiday Inn and some others. I didn't look at hotels away from Central Pattaya. Feels like big surge in pricing to me.

I'm currently looking at places for when i visit in March, and again in June.

I'm finding Condos and Pool Villas cheaper this year than last year..........and by quite a bit.  A pool villa I stayed in last year was £109 per night, and its £88 now.

I normally book one hotel for my arrival night as it can be quite late, and the hotels I am looking at are all bargains!  March/April is the time to stay.....

Hmm. I'll look at pool villas. Never considered. Think I want to stay walking distance to the action and don't know about staying alone in a house.

The condos don't look great in central area. Base and Edge have very mixed reviews. I looked at one that was reccomended at VT6 (1br renovated) and it was 3.3k for 19 nights. And I'm like this has to be a joke given how old this building is. And so I stopped looking at condos.

There are no pool villas (well, that I know of), that are very close to the action - the ones I use are in Jomptien - I dont care though as I just jump in a bolt.

You are paying for the locaation for VT6

Just looked on Agoda for March/April,  and the Baraquda is offering their duplex suite with Jacuzzi for USD $205 per night.  I haven't stayed there,  but the suite looks pretty good on the photos,  and I like the look of their pool too.

(I actually had a booking there two years ago,  but had to cancel the trip because I broke my ankle.)

Stayed there a bunch during COVID (1100 a night) no way is it a 5* hotel. It’s nice and all but not at that price.

Agree with the OP I also noticed a significant increase im hotel prices although my focus was on Bangkok and Phuket. We are talking about roughly 40-50% increase compared to last year.

Having that said I booked my hotel in Bangkok yesterday with the best offer I found on Expedia .

Also made use of the promo codes ( 9% valid only for Expedia UK).

I saw that one. I think it's like 3 star? So it works out to about $5k for 19 nights. Doesn't seem like a great value.

I'm wondering if I should just consider renting an apt. If I come 50~100 nights across various trips. It might make sense. And then I can store things. Maybe there is a way to rent it out on the side a little.

Over xmas and new year hotel prices were insane. hotels that were normally 3k were 10k.

I am a bit curious,   its been many years since I last used a 5* hotel. What extra value do you actualiy get at the Hilton by paying $8000 instead?
