A big thanks to @kramer_456 who posted in the Hollywood topic a solution that works for getting rid of some types of persistent cough.

My lady has had a persistent cough for the last couple of weeks. It started because of a flu/cold virus we both caught at the beginning of January. My cough gradually subsided, but not her's.

I bought the recommended Seretide inhaler for her last night and after one dose the improvement 8 hours later has been remarkable. She still has a bit of a cough, but the frequency and intensity has been considerable reduced.

This is what my lady used to good effect.

Glad to hear it worked for her. It was a game changer for me. It does provide almost instant relief. I usually take two puffs morning and night the 1st day, one puff morning and night the 2nd and by the 3rd day its usually gone but you can do one more round just to be sure and after that its almost always gone for me.

I expect to find out today if this inhaler is available OTC with no prescription.

meanwhile since the thrad ain't inhaler-specific, i can confirm that the fiber gummies i got at Seven... had fiber. being an idiot  i at the whole (small) batch. it is now an imodium morning.

I know that in Australia it definitely is prescription only. Will check with a local pharmacy in Pattaya.

@forcebwithu did you use your doctor, or did you just get it at the pharmacy?

A neighbor lady works at pharmacy and my lady had her phone number. All she did was give her a call and she brought it home with her after work.

Since it's not a strong drug, I expect you'll should be able to get it w/o a Rx. Heck, they hand out antibiotics like there were candy to all and sundry so I would be surprised if you couldn't self-prescribe a corticosteroid inhaler.

Its a pretty safe drug to take. Especially if you are only using it a couple of times. Just remember you are supposed to rinse your mouth out with water after using it though the Dr told me.

Went to the local Fascino Pharmacy to inquire because they are one of the more reputable groups. They told me that I would need a prescription but as I showed them my current inhaler they said that if you were already on it they would supply without one. I think that if you went to one of the Mom & Dad pharmacies they would sell no problem.

there are a couple mom and pop joints in Jomtien i have it in mind to try. also want to see if alfuzosin is available OTC. i have a ton of the stuff thanks to requiring the services of a urologist, but i'm curious. it helps you piss if you have prostate issues, and you can still shoot ropes.

that said i may not make it today. i *thought* it was too much fiber but it's much more like a waterborne illness.

didn't even make it out for coffee, let alone my monthly STI test.

My I was having stomach troubles for a long time (weeks) and I finally gave in and asked a pharmacist for some antibiotics and that did the trick. I try not to overdo the antibiotics but sometimes it's what's required.

I believe that is to protect your teeth and gums. It wouldnt hurt to brush your teeth as well.

It was something to do with the steroid part of it not being good for the tissue on the inside of your lips/mouth.

Some steroidal puffers can cause ulcers on the inside cheek.

@kramer_456, @forcebwithu I think that we must have all discovered this at the same time. I was in Australia in December and had a wheezing cough starting in my chest that just would not go away. I have a regular asthma puffer that only gave minimal comfort. My GP suggested this and said that it was relatively new on the market and had not even been on the PBS list yet so had to pay full price. It was not a game changer but a life changer for me as this cough had been coming and going for years. It worked within hours of the first dose and I do not even need it now.

This is brilliant news mate, so pleased this has made a big difference, I know this regular occurrence of regular coughing fits was a constant thorn in your side, so pleased you have found a solution.

OP - Nice song reference. It’s a banger.

the pharmacy i stopped at yesterday said they'd need to order the puffer. i'm not sure if that means they expect a prescription or not. i'll check a few more today.

in other news afuzosin is indeed available without a prescription. if you have lower urinary symptoms from prostate issues, this will help you piss without drying up your ability to shoot ropes.

Care to share name/location of the pharmacy?

General info for what it's worth. Visited 3 pharmacies on Phratamnak today and none stocked [the original] but all could order [without prescription] Pricewise all where in the 900 bracket and all recommended  Fascino for a immediate, cheaper supply.

i paid 750. i can't remember the name but it's on the opposite site of the street from Tree Town, somewhere between LK Metro and Prime Burger, where i parked the bike.

They have them at the pharmacy by Ring Massage directly opposite from Avenue. Walked in today and literally showed them the photo above of the inhaler on this thread and they sold me one. Didn’t ask for prescription. Was marginally more expensive than the price tag on the one in the photo. Identical otherwise.  They also had a larger model available with more puffs.

Still struggling to find actual Epsom salt anywhere, Thais only know what sea salt is even when you show them the translation of Epsom salt in Thai.  The Chinese herbal lady opposite(ish) the monastery on Pattaya Tai sold me some bags of Epsom salt that I found were sea salt when I got home. Epsom salt has a bitter taste and are much larger crystals than sea salt.
