I am in Chiang Mai on a regular basis, so thought I would throw together a few notes of my visits over the last year to help those travelling north.

Firstly, it is nowhere as punter friendly as Pattaya or Bangkok, but it still has its charm and across the board is cheaper, so there is that benefit if you find yourself in the mountains.

How: There are several ways to get to Chiang Mai, overnight train (don’t), bus (hell no), drive (hmm) and flight (obviously). The flights are cheap and take just an hour, my recommendation without a doubt, 6-7 airlines have nonstop flights from Bangkok as cheap as $40Aud.

From the Airport you can get Grab (download the app if you already haven’t) or pay 150B (6.40Aud) for a set price taxi to your hotel, the airport is close, and you could walk it if you liked to stroll (think 30-40mins to downtown)

Hotels: A lot to choose from and it really depends on budget, I got a 4-star place near Nimman (the new section of town) for $50-60 night, you can get places for $30 that are ok, and stay at a branded US chain for hundreds. Most of the action is located near Loi Kroh Road so in general maybe stay closer to the old town, even though you can get Grab’s for almost nothing, the traffic is non-existent, occasionally during peak hour its slower, but in general it’s so minor, so location is less of an issue.

Transport: Simple, use Grab or walk, yes if you want to spend a little more or just want a quick ride, get a Tuk Tuk.

Food: Great dining all over town, try a few things from Street food through to Michelin rated places, and a lot of it can be delivered to your hotel through Grab, works well. One place I wanted to try had a 45-50min wait, or 20min delivery on Grab, easy choice. There are many different Northern dishes so look forward to those if you like Thai food.

Exchange: Use the little roadside booths, don’t use the banks or places in the shopping centres.

Ok enough of being a travel guide, onto some punting.

WeChat/MiChat: Use nearby functions, I did have a couple of sessions from WeChat but it was very light on compared to Bangkok and Philippines, good as an addition but not to rely on. I picked up a couple of ladies this way and have made good Massage shop connections.

 

Ying – Wechat

Massage Plus: Pick the places where the ladies are beckoning you in and many places will offer extras', the places that look more professional or Spa like are less likely. The ones on Loi Kroh road tend to be the best for extras like HJ/BJ/B2B’s, for FS the ones on Kampangdin Rd are the most reliable but the ladies tend to be the older ones.

Another Massage offered in Chiang Mai is the Karsai special, a couple of places specialized in it, I haven’t ticked that box yet due to 1) cost and 2) a limited interest. Think Lingam/tantric ball/cock and prostate massage+

I have hooked up with shops on WeChat and have had them send ladies (FS) to my hotel, sadly the latest one I was using has now closed.

 

May - WeChat

Nuru: Not sure if there were others but there is IchaIcha, not far from Loi Kroh Road and I saw one lady there (Pupe), for an ok body slide on a blow up mattress with some Nuru gel before the rest of the package on the bed, the place is clean and had 5-6 girls on in the early afternoon when I sent, they put pics of the ladies on Twitter. 60mins is 2500baht

 

Pupe - IchaIcha Massage

Soapy Massage: There are a couple, but Sayuri is the largest. It is an old stand alone building in the burbs and has the typical fish bowl setup, 3 types of girls, standard (no massage) standard (massage) and model. The standard girls were 1800baht (76Aud for 1 hour) and the Models 2200baht (93Aud) I did see 2 from the standard and 1 from the models, standard gave better service. The basic rooms are like little jail cells with a jacuzzi, pay the extra 200baht for a VIP room which is a much nicer jail cell 😉 Overall a good place to visit with 20+ girls each time I was there. Most girls average looking but service was decent for the price.

I did also try Miyabi but found the service to very mechanical and the price was 2K+

FiwFans: This is a very Thai site so expect to use google translate, but in general imagine 50-60 girls in the 20-30 age range that you can visit or have them visit you for 1300-1500bht (64 Aud). I did see one lady from there, Kitty. But the translating and hit or miss of talking with them meant I only used it once, you will need to use the Line App to chat with them.

 

Kitty - FiwFans

Brothel: Lovers Spa was just that, not sure if they market as massage or anything else but you walk in, they give you a folder with pictures and you choose a girl, off to the room and enjoy the fun. They had 3 levels of girls, which seemed to be based mainly on age/no baby/no tatts, etc. The cost was around 2000bht for the standard one and I saw Eve (23yrs old) for a decent time. It looked like it was aimed at the Korean/Chinese Market.

Beer Bars: So the main place most will hit, on Loi Kroh road near all the Massage places are small beer bars with ladies beckoning you in, on pretty much all of these in this area you can Barfine the lady for some fun, the Barfines all seemed to be 500bht (21 Aud) and the girls wanted 1500-2500bht (64-105aud) depending on their age, and your bargaining ability. In the middle of Loi Kroh road is the Thai Boxing Ring and it is surrounded by 10-20 bars, overall I found a lack of talent, with lots of older or larger ladies, there is also 1 ladyboy bar there. However after a few laps I did luck out with a 25yr old lass who was very cute, lets call her B and I enjoyed having her visit my hotel a couple of times.

B - Loi Kroh Boxing Stadium Bar

So as much as there isn’t as many places or choices as the other hubs in Thailand, you can still see a decent field of options. I didn’t come across any street walking FL so didn’t mention them, and apparently there are some normal music bars that might have some, I tend to go to the places with more of a guarantee so didn’t try those.

Hopefully this helps a little if you end up here, I was there for just on 10 days and saw 13 ladies so can’t complain about the activity I got to experience.

Great report. It's a place worth visiting, quite a few things to do inside and outside the city.

There are a few options on TF and as said above the beer bars but don't expect it to be anything like Pattaya!!

Was in Chiang Mai for a couple of Days last year. 

While there are options, I'd recommend going to Chiang Mai after going to Patts to delay PPD.

The  bars around Loi Kroh rd boxing stadium can be very hit and miss. 2023 I managed to get a doable but not exceptional girl for 2k ST while last year the girls from 3 bars were all Drink Only. 

Definitely agree about upgrading to VIP room at Sayuri complex. The tub was a standard Bathtub, not spacious enough for play nor a monger of size. Facilities about as nice as a Soi 6 ST room.

The exotic massage places in Chiang Mai like Daisuki and All About Touch are known for using Real photos. However instore they don't offer BJ or FS. Have to get Line & meet up after work or do outcall to hotel. 

The photo of New was an accurate representation of how hot she was in real life. However she was the only one of that calibre when I went there and has left since.

Are the agogos in Chiang Nai still opened for biz?

Did not see any agogos open when I have been there past 2 trips last 2 years.  However, there many more spa options that have not been mentioned here/probably mentioned in other threads.  Crystal club is pretty fancy place a couple blocks off Loh kroh road on old city side of river - only a couple blocks from Governer/mayor extate(maybe he goes there - 555).  Prices here scale up from 2200-7000 baht with very good looking talent, but the facilities are nicest I saw in Chiang mai - 90 minutes full sex/blowjob.  Dolphin spa is another Nuru place on the non-Nieman side of old city.  Got great service there multiple times from very nice 22yr old named Ting last trip.  Think there was mention of another girl there on another thread - think name was Cherry.  Price there is 2000b for full hour nuru/massage/blow job, but you can get extras if you add on. Facility not fancy, but rooms pretty big/functional.

I did try one of those funky Lingam/etc type massages at that Daisuki place December 2023 and have to say very unimpressed.  Believe it was Daisuki and it not a great facility on the Nieman side of Old city and was 2200b - basically glorified handjob  and girl that had(had been reviewed somewhere here) did not seem like any amount of money was going to get more.

The FIWI fans was mentioned on another thread as well and certainly a cheap option.  seemed to be a shit hotel on the Nieman side where I met girl(reviewed somewhere on here) and pretty good service for 1400b - sex/blowjob.

Thai friendly has not been so effective for me in CM as have had very low response rate, but there is one decnt performer who have seen for past couple yrs - 1500b.  

Like anywhere in Thailand there all sorts of options if you look for them - cost/process just a bit different. 

As has been mentioned I  love the food options in Chiang Mai - Thai and western.  There is multi location restaurant called the Duke where think I could eat everything on the menu.  Gekko garden is more fo a cheap expat option with very good vibe as well.

From what I have been reading, they all went under during Covid.

   I am in Chiang Mai at the moment, a place I havent been in 18 yrs. I found it kind of boring back then and its boring again now.

Chiang Mai is terrible for mongering. TF is absolutely useless, the only girl openly admitting she was a freelancer (and a very fat one at that) quoted me 3k ST.

I have been walking up and down the Loi Kroh Road and the bars are all empty, with the girls sitting around having nothing to do.

I did have a few massages with extra but even now, with no costumers both times the service was bad. The first girl offered me full body with HJ and BJ for 1K but did not deliver on the BJ and the other one quoted me 800 full body with HJ but during the massage said ´´this is half hour, u want one hour´´ which killed the mood for me as I had specifically said before I do not negociate during the massage so I just told her to stop..she then said it was ´´just a joke´´and she would complete the hour but I was fed up and left. I let her keep the money but told her this is not the way to have costumers come back.

I also walked past that big bar with 20 or so girls along the Chaiyapoom rd (Bar 60 or something like that) but they didnt even notice me passing by because they were all on their phones. They do not seem to realise that this cant go on like this, I mean ofcourse its low season but these places cant stay in business for much longer.

Here's somewhat of an update from me..I visited the Sayuri Complex during afternoon hours (walked up there from my Na Thapae hotel which was about 2.2 km). and I was pleasantly surprised.

Laid back atmosphere, no pushy boss but a friendly explanation that the girl in her own fishbowl was 2400 bath and all of the others (about 10/12 of them) 1800. Very reasonable.

I took a pretty girl Jaja and she was a fun time.

So Chiang Mai may have something to offer after all.

I cut short my last visit as I found it intolerable.

Think January-March but check when planning a trip.

 

 

My partner took about 6 weeks to get over her respiratory infection after a 10 day stay in March a few years ago. From our 5th flr windows you couldn't see the surrounding hills. From Doi Suthep we couldn't see the buildings in town. Won't be back.

I'd planned to take several one-day bicycle trips in and around Chiang Mai. Did the first one and that was more than enough - eyes sore and airways affected. 

Flying out of Chiang Mai airport we climbed through a dark grey cloud layer of pollution. Glad to get a breath of clean air on landing at Hua Hin.

I have been in CM the past 2 years in December and the air quality than has actually been better than Pattaya at the same time.  I suspect that the air quality is fine UNTIL February, but think you are taking your chances after that.   FWIW - I am very sensitive to this and find air quality/temperatures all over Thailand and Vietnam to be horrible from February on.  Da Nang is one place where I have been in March and April and air quality is fine.  However, HCMC is quite bad even in December and January when I have been there.  Have heard that Hanoi is worse, however it is a bit cooler during those same periods as well.

Loh kroh road has never had anything the past 2 yrs I have visited CM.  Having said that I never thought Sayuri had anything decent either.  However, there plenty of other places that have been mentioned on other CM threads that I think are fine.  Nothing near what Pattaya offers, but certainly all that I need with price and quality quite similar to what I pay/get in Pattaya.  FWIW - I am never spending anytime in GO-go bars in Pattaya, but certainly not beer bars either.  I agree with you that TF in CM is useless.

THe Duke location on River is my favorite one.

Went to Loi Kroh Rd beerbars and I had prices for ST ranging from 2k to 4k ( these girls were early 20's but didn't look impressive to me). 

And I'm agree the overall quality isn't really appealing, but there are some gems here and there

I would be heading to thailand on 6th March and catching a flight to chiang mai the same day for 5 nights. I will post a detailed TR once on ground. Alryt then, been a while but i returned from Chiang Mai in march and can definitely say chiang mai is not for mongering but if you use Thaifrendly then you can get a ploy a night for sure.
