Hey Guys,

I am planning to travel to Pattaya for 17 days in march. One of the hotels I have shortlisted is the March hotel. My searches on the forum failed to yield any info about the hotel.

Can anybody shed some light on the state of the hotel and joiner policy?

Also I am considering service apartment as an option. Do they offer daily change of sheets and towels and basic cleaning?

Any suggestions would be welcome. FYI budget is b/w THB 1000-1500.

Cheers!!

March hotel is joiner friendly. Stayed there years ago.
I only stayed once due to lots of Indians, for some reason they like roaming the hallways in groups, slamming every door day or night. Turned me off ever going back.

Thanks for the info.. I understand how you feel .. Had a similar experience during my previous trip at Pattaya Loft hotel .. So being an Indian myself planning to avoid hotels that are known to host Indian tour groups ..

Any suggestions ??

Filter anything above 2000 baht a night and the Indian population greatly diminishes.

Was seriously hoping to avoid going overbudget on the accommodation. So was thinking of going the condo/apartment route. City Centre Residence is an option that I am considering. But as mentioned not sure if cleaning is included.

If everything else fails above 2k it is!!

Thanks for the tip BTW!!

All good man. Indians I've found, especially the uncles in groups, are the absolute BEST at finding great deals so if you've found one, expect there to be a 90% chance of having found it first.

Btw I've tried the condo route. The lack of fresh towels and clean room everyday sucks.

I am staying at March hotel for 12 nights this upcoming march.

I have stayed there few times. I prefer August Suits as its closer and has a nicer pool.

March hotel is an excellent hotel for the price of around 1000 baht, i have booked it as low as 750 baht in low season.

daily cleaning 2 waters, 2 tooth brush, shampoo conditioner, ear-swabs, shower cap and soap daily replenishment. Have pot and cups but no coffee or tea.

room are excellent and beds are comfortable.
most likely they will put you in the May hotel as may had no reception but its next door and its a newer building.

swimming pool and gym, i think also sauna.

1 free joiner if staying alone in the room but this in early 2024 they where not strict on girls checking into reception and said upto me if i want them to leave ID

The only thing that some people don’t like is that its a 2000 baht deposit pet room. But i always got it back in full.

Key cards, 2 elevators, rooms have plenty of outlets (only negative about August suits)

I was in pattaya January and February of 2024 and split my stay between August suits 15 nights and March hotel 10 nights.

The location is s bit out of the way thats the only issue.

As researching the month of march i came across some decent prices for D hotel at 1000 baht per night but it was none refundable. Found 247 boutique hotel at 1300 per night, excellent hotel but now very noisy from tree town aslo its a 20 and above age for a joiner.

Filliper house hotel on soi 7 is at 1000 baht including breakfast for 2, its an older hotel.

Thats the thing about Pattaya is that you can always find good accommodation at a reasonable price.

I have avoided March hotel thus far because I'm told that they often move customers to May hotel. Some say that May hotel isn't as nice. So what's the real story?  Do they do that? Are the beds the same? Are the rooms the same? Will the square footage on Agoda be accurate?

March hotel ticks all the boxes for me except for the noise as mentioned in a previous post. I will be working during the day for the duration of the trip. Not worried about breakfast option as I tend to skip breakfast anyways. And the security deposit is also fine as I have paid 1000THB on my pervious visits and the hotels paid that back in earnest during checkout.

Is the new wing (May hotel) as good as March hotel?

Also checked August Suites, definitely a worthy option and still within my budget.

Will checkout the other hotels mentioned too. Thank you for you suggestion.

Cheers!!

@Franko2018 mentioned that he was given accommodation in May hotel. The possibility of moving hotels does exist.

As far as the square footage and state of rooms is concerned, hotels sometimes tend to post older pictures of the room or post pictures of the best room in the segment. The rooms are usually as big as advertised. I personally have never encountered this issue and I use Agoda exclusively for booking in India, Malaysia and Thailand.

May hotel is newer. The rooms are truly excellent. It’s an improved version of March.

You can request to stay in March hotel they will accommodate you.

The issue is telling your guest to come to March hotel and request your room number in May hotel. Its a none issue for me as i dont give room number to a first time visitor, instead tell them to text me once they arrive.

If you dont mind the location its an excellent hotel with excellent service.

Dude thats an isolated incident.

The hotel is much more quiet that most other hotels

And large group of people traveling together would beed to book rooms in hotels through a travel agent and not on a booking site.

Many hotels in pattaya sell blocks of rooms to Chinese or Indian travel agents.

March hotel is not one of them.

Personally I stay away from hotels that sell to travel agents because the tour groups do get up early and are noisy.

If you are ok with the location then its definitely worth it to stay there.

Thanks for clearing that up.

As for the location I feel it is close to the action as I generally finish work after 10PM. So my preferred places are quite close. And I rely on foodpanda for the food. My last stay was at Pattaya Loft which is quite close to March hotel, so kinda accustomed to the neighborhood.

I recently watched a review on the March hotel on youtube. The reviewer ended up in the May extension wing. It is newer and he was quite happy withit. It doesn't have the wear and tear of years of use without any upgrades or refits that hotels have.

I need to find out more if the room sizes are the same. For me I want a little bit of space, balcony and a pool with shade availablilty. ( a 7/11 within a few minutes is a must) Now if I can get that under 1200baht for next holiday i'll be happy

I'm gonna finalize March hotel. I feel its a great place with good value . Thanks to everybody who replied for your valuable feedback and Paul from Paul's getaways(not sure if he's a member here!) for an amazing review of the hotel.

Cheers!!

Btw I've tried the condo route. The lack of fresh towels and clean room everyday sucks.

Once when staying in a condo at Edge I just walked down the corridor and collared one of the independant cleaners doing another condo. Think I paid them 300 baht to do mine afterwards. Took em 20 minutes while i waited. Obviously no new towels or linen but just ask the host to leave an extra set of both which they are usually happy to do. The host wanted a ridiculos 750 per clean. I got no problem going to the laundry once every few days. Even with a washer-dryer i cant be arsed to mess around with doing it myself. i'm on holiday after all.

Yeah I was at edge too. Good location but small and lack of services was a killer especially at 1800 baht.

Cleaning is the biggest hassle when it comes to condos. I don't fancy having the girls i bring back sharing the same towel. That's unhygienic on so many levels.

Though I am pretty well organized and not messy at all not having some basic cleaning done everyday kinda doesn't  sit right with me especially since I spend a lot of time in the room working. And as you rightly said no point adding cleaning chores to your itinerary on a holiday!

I've stayed many times at March hotel , and currently am, when staying in Pattaya. All these times had a room in the March hotel, but time I'm staying at the May hotel. When checking in (late, around midnight) I got a room in the May hotel and I thought I wouldn't like it. But now I'm here for a few days I like this room even better.
The advantages are for me that the rooms are cleaned every day, and the neighbourhood is quiet which is fine for sleeping and when trying to do some work.
You could argue it is a bit far from the action, but it is almost in between soi Buakhao and Soi 6 in either a short walk or motor taxi ride. The hallway can be a bit noisy but I haven't had large groups of Indians during my stay.

The March pool is OK-ish, not to big but was pretty cold this week (currently the pool at the May hotel is being renovated).

For the right price I had to wait for the right time to book as it can be fully booked at some day and have 'normal' prices rooms the next day.

And finally, for transportation to and from airport/Bangkok I use https://www.facebook.com/worawat.temfom
Reliable, always on time, fast but safe travels and good cars.

True. I suppose its even more of an issue for guys who spend a lot of time in the apartment. For me i only sleep and shower (and occasionally shag) in the condo. Id say the majority of my offloads are in Soi 6, GCs, BJs etc so as long as the host leaves me 4 or more towels, i can usually survive for a few days before i have to hit the laundrette At home I change my own towel every 3 days and that's enough.

But I can completely understand anyone who prefers hotels for the daily service.

I have tried Debua and Altera but this hotel is my favorite. The value for money is really good for around 1100 to 1200 bht per night. Design is nice. Always satisfied with the service, cleaning is done quickly when I leave my room. The girls at the reception are nice and helpful (except one with glasses and surgery on her face). I always ask to have a room on the May side, the rooms are more modern. The mattress is very comfortable and big. I had a hot water problem once but they quickly fixed the problem. The pools are fine, have sauna, the gym on the May side is sufficient. The hotel is a bit isolated without being too far from everything by bolt or even on foot for Soi 6. Have also a good 7/11 5 min away, good per kilo laundry and a small thaï food court. I really recommand, going back for my 7th time over a year (duration from 5 to 14 days depending) in a few days.
