I'm currently staying in Jomtien but I'm going to Pattaya on Saturday. Was thinking about just book a cheap room so don't have to worry about the hassle back to Jomtien at night.

But someone told me that it's not possible because everyone is registered at some government page and you can only be registered at one accommodation at one time? True or false?

Don’t worry about it.
Yes, most hotels automatically register you with immigration but it’s not checked unless you have direct dealings with immigration, and even then it’s not really going to be a problem.

If you go to immigration for an extension then the address you give them should be the same as the last TM30 but it’s easily fixed. If you’re not getting an extension etc then it makes no difference whatsoever.

Interesting I was planning on getting me a sort time hotel while on holiday, suppose it doesn't matter if your only staying visa free. Others may say something different I never thought about this being an issue.

I rent a car and do side trips on all my yearly trips to Pattaya.

I always keep my Pattaya hotel when I travel and stay in a couple different hotels each trip.

I have been doing tor many years and have never had any problems.

I’ve done this many many times, and there is a simple solution. When you register at the 2nd hotel, list the first hotel as your home address. Once they see it they usually won’t bother with the paperwork hassle. If they do, you properly reported both, so you’re covered.

You do realize that Jomtien and Pattaya are so close they share a baht bus route?

Yes, I need to go back to Jomtien around midnight and it might be a problem to get a space on the bus or to get a Bolt taxi.

Not a problem at all. There are enough bahtbus or Bolt Taxi around midnight. Exeption may be a special occasion like New Year. But even then it should not be a problem.

If you go to the school you can wait for an empty Baht bus to Jomtien which would be a 5 minute wait at midnight.

A Bolt would be easy and far less expensive (like 1/50th)  than a separate hotel just to avoid going into Jomtien as early as midnight.

You could also just tell the dispatcher at the school you want a private BB and pay maybe 200 or 300 but a Bolt would be cheaper and air conditioned.

Unless you're in Na Jomtien it's an easy trip as mentioned above.

Jomtien baht bus  @ ฿10 will run every few minutes or bolt will be ฿80-100.

I often stumble out of walking st after midnight and usually home in Jomtien in about 20 mins.

No issues with 2 places.
Unless you are planning to be pissed drunk to the point where you risk an accident by taking transport to Jomtien ... unless you want to have a girl that people around your accommodation in Jomtien don't find out about (like a wife or GF... ), I don't see much reason to rent a 2nd room.
