Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for info in regards to DTV Visa and how hard is to get one by using a Visa agency in Pattaya.

Did anyone get a DTV Visa in Pattaya ? What did the application process involve and how much did it cost ?

Thank you !

There's a thread here somewhere by someone who obtained the visa in Laos. Might wanna try and search for that.

But, as above, pretty sure you can't get it inside the country.

You can’t get it inside Thailand. You could talk to an agent who will advise you to try in Vientiane or whatever with their help, but it’s not difficult to apply to the embassy in your home country. You might be in Thailand now, but the embassy doesn’t know that

Tried to extend DTV in jomtien but they asked for all papers basically making me redo the whole initial visa application but with 10 times higher requirements asking for all sorts of documents so I just left and booked Vietnam 3 days instead. Arrived back today and got stamped in at Bkk no problem

Edit:Oops posted in wrong DTV thread

DTV is very easy to do yourself.

1. Just need a letter from a company that states they have you on a contract basis and that you are allowed to work remotely.  You don't need to produce the contract nor prove any payment has ever been made by said company. Currently they don't even contact the company on the contract. You can even own the company that provides the letter. you could easily get a friend with a company to write you the letter.

2. 500,000 in a bank account. They accepted my broking account.

3. Proof of where you are. Can just be a visa stamp in any country.

Submit it to the website. Theoretically should be done outside of Thailand. But will need to enter country with it to activate.

Mine was processed in 5 business days. Cost 10,000 directly to thai embassy

These agencies that charge US$3000 has taking the piss

Totally agree, cannot see why an agent would help if you are relatively literate!  Lol...
- As I own my company, they ask me for "company registration" : i provided them with a screen shot + weblink to my company's business registration on official government website, which can be accessed by anyone as it is public information.
- For me for proof of where I am was a simple utility bill from home country was sufficient even if a few months old.  I still had some utilities under my name.   Credit card statement with home country address would have been ok too.

The huge advantage of getting it from home country if you are westerner is that many western countries now emit DTV as electronic visa...

Chanute or whatever its called even though I already have the tm30, adress registration, 90 day report, lease agreement copy. And she showed me a medical document from another persons application (no privacy here!) and said I needed it but that poor dude had some problems with his heart or something which I dont have so whe the fk should I get that medical cert for (I have a medical cert related for my condition but as it was only one page so it wasn't enough, not much I can do about that. And if I had fixed it they would probably just raised the bar again.

I applied in my home country 4 weeks ago and still haven’t been approved. 2 days after applying they asked for extra documents which was my business registration that I had already uploaded lol

So I uploaded it again but since then nothing.

How long did it take for them to approve you guys? I have my own online business for reference

I would give them a nice polite enquiring call if you have not done so already.
I got mine done about 2 months after the DTV came into effect and it took 5 working days after I submitted my application, but I had called and spoken to a consular official twice before with some specific questions before submitting.  I got 2 back and forth emails for additional info from them, I answered within a few hours each time.
It does seem that the application is not as easy and takes longer now.  When I had applied (last August) I asked how much time it would take to process, they answered "5 work days" then but also said: we have very few applications so for now it's fast, but when we get more/ higher season, it will take maybe 2-3 more weeks".

Ah I forgot to update this thread, but I actually got it. Took about 5 weeks in total which is a lot longer than most people but at least I didn’t get rejected or get messed around with endlessly sending new documents. Apparently the wait times highly depend on which embassy you’re applying from. I’ve heard Vietnam is one of the fastest now in recent months but I applied from my home country
