Small bus Pattaya to Bangkok

Recommended Posts

Usually when I'm going from Pattaya/Jomtien to lower Sukhumvit in Bangkok I go by airport bus to Suvarnabhumi and than the Airport Rail Link and skytrain to Nana.

But I've stumbled upon this. Small buses, maybe for 25 people,  departing from corner of Jomtien Beach Road and Soi 5. 180 baht to Ekkamai. 2,5 hrs. Ekkamai is close to Nana etc, sure this option must be a better alternative?

(Not the actual bus on photo, just for size reference)

Geesh, that seems like an awful lot of trouble to get from Pattaya to lower Sukhumvit in Bangkok.

I’d take the Roong Reuang bus from North Pattaya Bus Station to Ekkamai in Bangkok.  The Ekkamai BTS is just outside to the right as you exit the bus station and cross the side street … four stops to Nana.  Easy peasy.

Im not a fan of those smaller/mini buses and vans … find the larger bus more comfortable and an easier ride.  And apparently cheaper too at 131b or so.

If bus terminal [in Jomtien] is more convenient than other terminals for the pax it might be an idea otherwise its all the same how one get to the public transportation system in BKK

These white mini buses are death traps. It's not uncommon for them to get in horrific accidents and everyone on board perishes.

True, but there have also been a spate of large bus crashes recently.

I’m also think it’s for these buses that the guys screaming ‘Pattaya Pattaya’ at ekkamai bus station.   Ignore them … Roong Reuang is the first window on the right as you come up the stairs and the attendant in quiet and waiting …

Yeah the same ones that take Sukhumvit the whole way and stop on nearly every block trawling for more passengers. I got on one of these one time and 2 very effeminate middle aged Brits just absolutely lost their shit and starting screaming at the whole bus to get off.

Oh man. While cheap, I dont think I would take the risk. Do they have space for your luggages?

I took one of these minibuses a few days ago as it was just leaving. The actual bus was probably in Pattaya faster. This one made at least three stops at some stations and several additional to drop off some delivery packages. Space is very limited and they just tie bags anywhere they can. One poor ude with a French accent wanted to go toilet before we even got on our way and then on every single freaking stop. And as I was sitting right beside the door I had to jump off and back every time. I can try anything once and this was one of those things one is enough.
