When does the hotels generally start taking bookings?

Hey,

As the headline says, does anyone know how early the hotels/guesthouses generally start to take bookings?

I'm looking for somewhere to stay in november ( I know it's a long way away but I'm impatient) and on Agoda there is like 16 places available so I guess the hotels hasn't released the rooms to them yet, and on the hotels own homepages it says there is no available room for those dates.

I wanna start comparing rates.

Here is the issue (as explained to me by The Areca Hotel)

Most places have set rates until 30 April (the end of the high season). You will notice that no rates are set after that date and you cannot get a reservation.

In 2024, new rates were not set until March, and then only for a 90-day period. They weren't really opened up until June 2024 for the rest of the year.

I stay at the same place each year (The Areca), so I contact them directly to set up my reservation.

Don't take any notice of the "last room available" or "5 rooms booked in last hour" bullshit on Agoda or any other website, it's all to pressure you into booking immediately and usually isn't true.

I once had issue with no rooms available on Agoda at D hotel for my dates. I dropped the hotel an email and very quickly got a reply "check again" and yep the rooms had appeared. So try contacting your hotel directly.

I would look to book in (say) Aug/Sep for your forthcoming trip. However, if you look now at the hotel(s) you are interested in and select (say) March 2025, the prices displayed will be pretty close to what the likely price will be next November.

Just book what ever you can now, just make sure you choose free cancellation!
then tjek randomly and if the price get lower make som new booking, and cancel the higher ones…

very easy

Let someone else do the work for you.

Search on Trivago.com. You can set filters for facilities, location, price etc. Remember to say your dates.

Trivago searches other sites for you -saves you time and work.

Probably a good idea. I've been noticing that hotel prices have been dropping for my trip a few months away. When the lowest point is going to be is the question.

Also I'm inclined to want to see them if I haven't stayed there before. I note a number of people recommend taking a short booking so you have somewhere to stay when you arrive, then have a look about then, provided you aren't in peak season.

I typically begin planning 9 months in advance minimum. This generally gets the best prices, availability, and selection for the time period. Some things won't be available that early, need to check periodically when the Brookings are available.

Because planning out so far, it's important to make sure that the reservations you have are flexible enough that you can make changes. You just never know what will happen between then and now.

I've had very little difficulty planning out this far with availability and pricing from the hotels, or residences I stay at, despite the high season low season differences. @Greg_B gave some very useful information on the hotels. Typically I stay at condos n apartments, they usually schedule out much further than some of the hotels

You will come to a point where you grow tired of staying at many different hotels.

My first trip was in 2000 and for the next 20 years, I tried many hotels.

Finally in 2021 I picked one and made it the home base each trip

Yeah but I don't want to email 10-15 different places to get a quote, the issue I'm facing right now is that there is no available rooms/rates on the hotel's homepages or on Agoda.

10-12 months but usually these rates are bad. More expensive than if you book 3-6 months ahead.

This wasy experience when I tried to book for my 2023 trip late 2022.

And notice the same when I booked for my Songkran trip early on.

When i am searching for November i get over 1000 hotels available.
so I don’t get why you say there is no available? What is the names of those hotels you are talking about?
