Hello my dear friends,

As the title is saying and hopefully this is not against the RULES or asked to many times but,

For the people who has been to Pattaya, what's your favorite hotel and why?

Thank you in advance and if there is a mistake with this topic, kindly asking for closing.

Are you looking for advice on a hotel for yourself?

If so, need to say when and what price (THB) is OK for you.

For me it's the Areca Lodge.

Location, quality of the hotel and very friendly helpful staff.

For me it’s Avani Resort.

Been staying there since the days of Marriott branding.  Perfectly located, full service hotel, lovely grounds and resort style pool, helpful and friendly staff … nice quiet access to the terrace suites.

I LOVED the Avani back when it was a Marriott -- it's the hotel that got me into the credit card miles/points game, as I jumped on some Marriott cards to build points and get FNCs to use there.

BUT I am now wed to miles/points game, so it fell off my "favorites" list when they changed the brand.  Hopefully the long-rumored Marriott project on Beach Road will come to fruition one day.

For now, my allegiance (as a points/miles whore) is divided:

 - for a pure "hotel" perspective, I absolutely love the InterContinental -- far enough away from the madness of Pattaya to feel like I am at a true beach resort, but close enough to be in the middle of the action in 15-30 minutes. That said, nothing close/convenient and eating on property can get expensive.

 - for convenience/location, I find the Hilton hard to beat (although Avani surely gives it a run for its money).  Centrally located with easy access to just about anywhere; connected to Central, so a multitude of dining/shopping options are right there.  The staff is great -- they greet me by name when I arrive.  That said, I find the pool very underwhelming - lotta shade, limited chairs, and the water is always f*cking freezing!

The Studio room in Somerset. Aside from the friendly staff and (for me) central location it's a prime spot to get to places by foot or bath bus.

Well, you know how to read people quite well i must say :)

The truth is that i don't know exactly what i want 555

The plan is 6-18 june 2025 for my birthday, flight already booked at an excellent 600 EUR witch i found amazing.

6-10 June = UP TO 1700 baht/night 50EUR

10-13 = UP TO 3500 baht/night 100EUR

13 - 18 will travel to samui, krabi or phuket and around, dont know yet, it will be more family oriented (with young soul who like to party responsible).

below is a screenshot of some bookings i did on Agoda few days ago with free cancelation:

i found ktk for 30eur/night, it seems like a bargain to me for few days until my birthday will come, yet im looking for more experienced people about opinions.

26 years old, probably solo in pattaya until i monger enough and take a girl with me and meet my friend and his family.

Must have balcony to accommodate my old smoking habit...

Money are not really a problem yet at my age i would prefer to be responsible and don't overspend of i can find ok quality for less money.

From this list Amethyst would be my first choice, Seame 2nd. I prefer being on Soi B Rather the other side of 2nd road.

Of the ones here, Amethyst and Mytt Beach are a cut above the rest.

I was booked in to Baraquda but got a good deal on an executive room booking direct at Amethyst so I changed. I did however have to settle for a less flexible cancellation policy. I did consider staying somewhere nice further away but I did this in Phuket staying at BYD lofts and it was a right pain travelling there and back every evening. hotel was great though

For me it has to be Grande centre point. The location is perfect for me as it's connected to T21 and a short ride to Soi 6.

Posted

For me is LK Empress purely because of the entertainment/antics you see on Beach Road (Coconut Bar). Sitting on the balcony with a lady and drink, talking about what's happening on the street

I highly rate the Royal Cliff Grand hotel, it's a similar price as Amethyst but for me the RC is another step above still - incredible room views, great staff and really nice hotel facilities, it's a bit further away from the action though (about 10 mins bolt to walking street) so not the most convenient for all

Sleep With Me has been my favourite so far. Location was perfect, and nice sized room.

Had friends stay at Avani and that seemed great too.

I always prefer budget options as I don't spend a lot of time in my room.

I can confirm this. The Avani is one of the best hotels in Pattaya. The location is perfect and the rooms have a very special charm. The ladies I invited there were always very enthusiastic and fell in love with me. 😋

LK Empress, but specifically the new building rather than the old one that looks over BR.

The Wave is a strong contender but idk who guest friendly it is.

I know it's not one of the luxurious ones, nor the taste for those who like to post pictures on Instagram, but my favorite is The Stay, in Soi 10, for several reasons: the main one: its location, 1 minute walk from Beach Road and 2 minutes from Second Road and the bath buses in each directions, reasonable price, large rooms, large and sunny pool, a laundry in the same street ,and 7/11 a stone's throw away on Second Road.

Over the years I have tried many others on the same range, such as SeaMe I and II, Page 10, Acqua hotel, Sleep with me, LK Metropole, ..... but I always keep coming back to The Stay.

Recently I have stayed at The Amyathist, The Amber and The Areca (all the A's).

All three hotels were fine but:

  • The Amyathist, in my opinion, has now become over priced.
  • The Amber was good but breakfast was not good and room cleaning was very patchy. Sometimes as late as 17:00.
  • So I would vote for the Areca, in a refurbished pool view room. Location is great, breakfast is good and price is certainly lower than The Amyathist.

I stayed in 7 different hotels on my trip. My favorite by far was Honey Lodge by Walking St. It was the most like a traditional western hotel. Nikom Court was 2nd (by LK Metro).

I'll be posting individual hotel reviews in this forum soon.

  1. Bangkok/Pattaya: 27 Jan - 21 Feb 2025
  2. Bangkok/Chaiyaphum/Ayutthaya/Pattaya: 28 Aug - 27 Sep 2025
  3. Arriving on a one-way ticket 28 May 2026 and never leaving!
