City Center Residence Review Feb 2024

On my last trip to Thailand I decided to rent an apartment as I would be out there for a month rather than just a two week trip.

Price: £579.80 (Feb 2024)

Location: Located on Bong Koch 8 a few minute walk from the stretch of gents clubs like Purple, Amsterdam and 007. Good location as its fairly quiet while still being walkable into Bukhao, for anything further you can get a bolt or grab bike for 20-40 baht.

Accommodation: The site itself is quite ascetically pleasing, you are greeted by a decent size pool and swim up bar, right above that is a fishbowl style structure that houses a decent gym.

The apartment itself was well maintained with a view of the pool from the balcony. The space was not huge but perfectly acceptable for the price bracket it falls in. The main room is a Livingroom and kitchen combination, that also leads out to the balcony. The bedroom is in a separate room by itself which was appreciated. It has a good size fridge and a hob for cooking if you don't feel like heading out. The room is opened by an electronic key, that is also used to get through the from security gate to the complex, which is manned during the day by security staff.

The unit had its own dedicated Wi-Fi which was good as I was working for two weeks of my trip so that was a consideration when choosing this place. The only downside was the Bed and pillows which I found dreadfully uncomfortable. I actually went out to a local store and bought a mattress topper for about £30 which I sold to the hosts at the end of my stay. If they purchased a higher quality mattress I would happily stay here again.

Guest friendly: I met a few different girls off Thai Friendly and had no issues with security at the front gate. 

Overall: I think this place is great value for the money, if my particular host got a better bed I would happily stay here again as for a month stay it was much better value than a hotel. I personally did not mind the walk into tree town or second road, but that could be a consideration for others depending on your level of fitness, but a bolt moto taxi to tree town is only about 20baht so not expensive.
