Hi you alI.
I saw on youtube that a typical youtube-wannabe walked around night time with a gimbal filming inside bars and also customers.
Most probably someone living in pattaya, since he had lots of videos. The channel says he may be from USA.
Back 10-15 years ago when i went to pattaya lots of times, that was an absolute tabu. Taking pictures/filming like that would probably give you a broken camera.
It seems like every bored long stay tourist/expat nowadays wants to be a "pattaya night time David Attenburough".
Is that the norm now and generally accepted?

I can only speak for myself. It’s part of the reason I prefer gentleman’s clubs.
Pattaya reminds me of that movie, the beach (leonardo DiCaprio). A haven that few people knew about but others have now found, or more realistically it was known but part of a secret boys club. You can thank covid for that, add to that the rise of influencers + vloggers and you have a commercialised destination where your privacy now is compromised (my biggest concern).

I wouldn’t say it’s the norm but it is tolerated in some districts or bars more than others.
Beer bars a little more, go go’s & closed bars a hard no.

The norm now? Would seem to have become so, unfortunately.

Generally accepted? I doubt it.

It’s a lost cause. Girls and bars generally have accepted it as it is free marketing for them. The numbers are overwhelming. Some bars have signs prohibiting it but even then. Young Korean YTubers with gimbal, stand etc do pay the girls well to pose and I have seen some allowed to taking clips within bars. Punters are rightfully not happy.

On Soi 6 you have to dodge multiple vloggers on a nightly basis.

If you sit in any bar on 6 for any period of time then you are definitely going to be on some assholes vlog or socials.

I stopped going to Soi 6 for this very reason. I'm cheap and a poor spender, so i won't be missed. I had an excellent time on the dark side yesterday.

Unfortunately yes, but honesty i would much prefer discretion.

But yes, it seems like nowadays its definitely common

Vloggers are one of the worst things to happen to Pattaya, ever. They can blur out people's faces if they choose to, but almost all of them don't bother.
