Pattaya City Hospital

I am posting this to get feedback if others had the same experience as I did yesterday at Pattaya City Hospital. I suddenly became dizzy and unsteady on my feet and had real concern. I would never go the hospital if I wasnt very concerned, and I made the decision to go the hospital not knowing what was going on. To keep it short, there wasnt anybody there that seemed to speak English, there are 4 or 5 of the angriest looking Thai girls as you enter to register. Keep in mind I didnt know if I was in real danger or what was going on at this point, as they were trying to question me about my symptoms they were laughing that I couldnt understand them and I had no idea what they were asking me. They gave me a piece of paper that I couldnt read and waved me over to a waiting area. Not a single employ there was friendly or helpful, they basically treated me like a dog. 2 hours later I left with no answers and fended for myself, went back to my room and drank a bunch of water and went to bed. I do have a preexisting thyroid condition but I have dealt with it for 20 years so I dont think that was the issue, as I type this I still dont feel that great but I dont have that feeling of dread like I did last night. Does this sound like business as usual or did I just catch the entire hospital staff having a bad day?

You went to a Thai public hospital who has limited facilities to cater for non-Thais...next time go to a private hospital and you will have a much better experience.

Even Thais dislike going to most public hospitals...

It's a government hospital, which means it's cheaper but you need a lot of patience.

Go to a private hospital like Bangkok Pattaya and you'll be treated like a king in comparison.

I had similar symptons which turned out to be Thrombosis (blood clots) on my lungs causing my heart to swell & starve oxygen to the brain. Bangkok hospital had me diagnosed, MRI'd, ECG'd, Dripped & Oxygen within an hour.

It could simply be the heat, lack of fluids (or too much!) electrolytes and protein water (7/11) may help.

Hope you improve...

You're here now where you should have been all along.

I have nothing but good things to say about this hospital.

In March this year I had out-patient treatment at Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, three visits in a week.

Excellent service from English-speaking doctors and nurses.

Yes, I did have to pay, but costs were very reasonable.

If ever I need a Pattaya hospital again, it will be my first stop.

As above, Med insurance is a must & make sure they specify BHP as they will clear you straight away. I had mine less than a year so it was pay first & claim later, took 6 months. 🤔

As a rule of thumb, if you don't speak Thai or have someone with you who speaks Thai, don't bother with a public hospital in Thailand.

Yes, I'm aware that some of them have English-speaking staff, what I mean is that you don't want to find out if the one you plan to go to does when you're already in the unfortunate situation that you need urgent medical attention.

In no way is Pattaya City Hospital, a public Hospital like Banglamung Hospital IMO.

Place took excellent care of me when needed. At a very reasonable price as well. Gets very busy during the weekend, though.

I had a ingrowing toe nail removed there and the procedure and service were second to none.

Cheap too.

Many of the girls I know in Pattaya use it.

I like them, as juicy as a freshwater clam!

In an emergency type situation which it was, you could have died, Bangkok Pattaya is the best, expensive yes but you'd be alive, could of also gone to Memorial for quick treatment. In a non emergency situation you have time to try Pattaya City or Bang Lamung or Queen Sirikit in Sattahip. In these Thai speaking govt hospitals they would happily let you stand there all day without helping
