Hair loss prevention pills (Finasteride/Minoxidil)

Has anyone tried these treatments (Or any other treatments to mention)?

Was looking into starting using them as I am super afraid of losing my hair 😛. I have no issues with hair loss yet, but my dad started thinning and losing his hair at around my age.

Are they readily available in pharmacies in Pattaya?

And now that I posted this I saw that someone else had posted it:

Recommend avoiding them at all costs. They screw with your testosterone levels making nighttime fun a lot less pleasurable

I can confirm all these side effects except the depression, I'm in my 70's btw, ....one doctor prescribed Finasteride for enlarged prostrate which I took for a while, then saw another doctor when I complained of the above symptoms, he told me to stop the medication immediately which I did, a week later I was back on the job with extended smile on my face, such a relief!   I cannot comment on prescribing for hair loss!!!

I tried minoxidil, in general I don’t recommend it because the course is quite long to see progress, after about 3-4 months there was visually more hair, but the problem with minoxidil is that if you stop the course, all the hair that has grown falls out very quickly

No need to do anything drastic OP as bargirls seem to love a gleaming dome. At least that's the impression I get when taking the bus from Ekkamai

Finasteride works very well for male pattern baldness. Unfortunately I started a bit too late. Minoxidil is nowhere near as effective.

I used it for more than 10 years, never had any issues.

Not using anymore now, but used to be widely available in Pattaya pharmacies and probably still is. I usually bought proscar and cut the tablets into the right dose. Lot cheaper that way.

“Usual bullshit nonsense”

meaning some people had a different experience to you, therefore it’s bullshit!

plenty of guys getting sides from hairloss prevention meds, no debate about that even the product inserts admit it.

however if you're someone who looks way younger with hair or has an ugly skull it might be worth the gamble to keep your hair, personally I use just 0.5mg of dutasteride every 5 days and no noticeable sides so far.

I've been taking propecia (1 mg tablet per day) since early 2000's, so that's like over 22 years taking it. I've never had any negative side effects that I'd noticed all this time. My testosterone levels are normal for my age. Never had any issues with erection physically. My sex drives were perfectly normal. As I get older propecia also provides benefit for my prostate so that's a plus. You can easily buy finasteride over the counter at any pharmacy shop you see in town. I don't remember the exact name of the brand but I tell them finasteride and they seem to know.

I've used minoxidil (foam) and finasteride for about 12-18 months because I was getting very thin on top.  It took several months, but about half of what was gone has returned.  It made the difference between looking bald in the middle and looking ok.  I haven't noticed any side effects.

Why foam not the liquid?

Dutasteride is recognised as working better than Finasteride. Take a 0.5mg dose daily. Apparently the half life is longer than a day so having one less than daily also works, or using finasteride and Dutasteride occasionally is also something I’ve seen recommended. Apparently even one dose of Dutasteride a week leads to better results. It regrows hair better than finasteride.

It’s not cheap unfortunately. Tim’s Pharmacy on second road sells it under the Avodart brand for 1800 baht. Thirty 0.5 capsules. Not tablets, so you can’t halve them. Boots sell the same product for 2200, only in the bigger stores. Terminal21 didn’t have them at all, but one in the basement of Central did.  Fascino pharmacies quite possibly have them, I haven’t checked.

Go bald , go ftw ~~

Fin min can go in toilet ~~

Fin is very less on side effect side, it depends on what you feel psychologically, if u think about you are experiencing side effects you will have it enough though the medicine isn't giving you.

I have used Fin 1mg + Min 1.25mg for more than year and a half , though I took breaks occasionally. Results were good not bad.

It will help you stop progressing hair loss , there is topical of Min+Fin you can try it but I don't think it is US-FDA approved.

Anyway after all that hair loss journey it won't remain if you cannot maintain the hair

Anyway go bald go ftw
