I'd be curious what the situation with emergency exits (rear doors, egressable windows, etc.) on this bus was.

Perhaps this sad and unfortunate incident might spur improvements in safety regulations of buses in this regard (if deemed a contributing factor of course)?

Yes so heartbreaking!!!
Sounds like the bus was using LPG (liquid propane gas... ) which would explain why it caught on fire so easily with the impact of the relatively "benign" crash... in western media they relate the fire started at the front to mid part of the bus, which explains why many people were trapped at the back... and the emergency exit being out of reach of kids (too high!)

Absolutely tragic RIP.

I notice none of the government officials seem to have made any comment as to vehicle safety standards, such as tire wear as a blown tire appears to may have started things.
I recently had my car checked for registration renewal and the safety check is anything but. I sincerely hope it’s not the same for buses and heavy vehicles.

Health and Safety is non existent here....surely you should know that by now....vehicle roadworthiness is just a joke sadly.

As above RIP.
