How many steps per day in Pattaya?

Recommended Posts

I average around 10.000++ per day. I’m planning to keep that amount of steps while on the ground on my next trip.

How many steps do you average ?

I'm also at about 10k pr day, but a bit less if it's very hot outside.

I walk a lot when in Thailand, in Pattaya 10000-15000 steps a day,

but more in Bangkok 20000-25000 steps a day as there are so much more places to see and walk to.

15-20k a day..   I am living here now,  so I make sure I walk to the gym vs riding my motorbike, and always finish my workout sessions with 45 mins of cardio.

10k a day is simple..  it's the 15k to 20k that makes it difficult..    if it's a night on he town Soi 6 or WS.  20k is pretty standard.

Good job with your steps.  Walking for sure is the key to health.   But you cannot out walk a bad diet...

I assume the intention with this workload is weight loss. I know I met you years ago (at least 8 or so) and you are a larger guy, no idea if you’ve lost any weight since then though.  I would say it’s great that you’re getting a lot of exercise but there is a diminishing marginal return on walking.   Assuming you aren’t doing the occasional bit of weight training or higher intensity cardio, I would suggest you devote a bit of this time spent walking (and the associate fatigue it generates) to slightly higher intensity cardio or weight training.     I think it would help you maximize return on your effort.  You may even consider adding a bit of weight to a backpack and wear that when you go walking.

Regardless, that’s an impressive amount of steps in a day.  I hope it’s paying off for you.

Have to admit I've never bothered counting steps, amazed you all remember without losing count at some point

I probably walk 10-15km's a day usually

Me too. Walk until tired or had enough

Same with eating eat when hungry stop when full.
I don’t count calories waste of time

I remember I ate a brownie. I ended up on  the dark side. I think full moon bar. After the bars all closed, I walked back to my room at Soi Buakaw. Moral of the story. Always go out with snacks in your pocket.

I'll easily average 25k+ per day if I'm not using the baht bus, but I'll be a sweaty mess. Never less than 15k even with it.

I tend to walk around aimlessly a lot during the day to pass the time though

Thats the real answer right there. Facts.

It dont matter how much running or weight lifting you do. If your not eating a mostly clean diet 80%, you get no results.

Im not a steps guy (tracking wise), but I walk an hour a day, hit the weights 4 days a week and mostly get a 30 minute run in 5 days. I still dont have a 6pack lol.

Samsung Health recommended me for 6k a day. Hardly achievable with office working and driving around. I'm averaging 1 to 2k day sometimes less than 200 when working from home. When I was in Bangkok I was doing 13k to 17k. In pattaya i was averaging 11k day.

I noticed many people here take more steps in BKK than Pattaya.
Reason why i walk more in Pattaya is because there is more walking space and more working girls to interact with.
BKK sidewalks can be very narrow and packed with people.

Perhaps it’s the walking around them that adds up.

I average 12-15k steps per day.   I also tend to use the stairs if it’s up to five flights or so as I see it as a quick and convenient opportunity for a bit of exercise … and walk up escalators and along people movers.
