I booked for Sept a couple of months ago, got direct flights for £2500 on Thai. I think booking 3-4 months is your sweet spot, set up alerts on SkyScanner.

Swiss Airways is good in terms of total flight times, the change overs are short.

A lot of people looking at Air India in terms of price

Fair play to those that pay it but one of the reasons I've got money is that I dont "waste" it for example on Biz travel lol

No matter what direction we're going to pay (on average) £2000 more  over and above the economy fare is mind boggling waste albeit I totally acknowledge thats only my opinion

If I at 1.89m can fly quite happily complete with back issues in economy than am sure others could

£2k at 46.50 to the £ is an awful lot of extra action at 93,000 Baht for the sheet indulgance of landing 30m in front of me

I've lost count how many times I've been upgraded via FF schemes this last 35 years to Thailand but christ I'd never pay for it!

I also booked Thai direct at £2.5 a few months ago, they do come around,  but you have to be quick. Turkish very often have good deals as well, but look at the stopover times.

I'm lucky enough not to of flown economy in nearly 10 years,  and I never will again. It would ruin my holiday if I had to, as it is I look forward to my flight and in my opinion,  its worth every penny. I admit I do look for the best deal, keep at it and something will come sooner or later

I saw some Biz flights listed last week for departures next week from LHR on Swiss for £1700. Not too bad when you consider an indirect Economy is running at about £1000 and direct at about £1300 at this time of year

It's usually around £3,200-£3,400 return with Emirates, slightly higher during certain 'peak' times.

Their product is also no where near as high standard as it used to be, and it's not covid related as is started slipping years before. I will only travel on the A380 routes for this reason.

I've found Etihad to have the most consistent business class offering over the past couple of years. Good lounge at Heathrow and the new terminal in Abu Dhabi is significantly better than the old one. Not everyone is a fan of the Miracle lounges in Bangkok but i don't mind them. !-2-1 seating on all legs and aircraft types serving Bangkok from London is the deal breaker for me. Typically priced between £2k and £2.8 k return.

Gulf and Oman sometimes have short notice deals but the flight times and connections from London aren't as good as they were pre covid

Etihad have been changing lounges in Bangkok a bit recently. When I flew out at the end of January they were using the Turkish Airlines lounge and last week were using a Coral lounge.  Neither of them come anywhere near their own new lounge in Abu Dhabi!

I'll be honest-no. The ticket I bought recently was for my dad because he won't fly with anyone else. There are far better options out there than Thai and they are not in my top 5 tbh

I’ve flown Thai biz a few times the last couple of years, think they’re OK and would use them again. Sure there are better, but there’s also worse. For a given airline, the trip can be great or suck depending on the aircraft used on your route. With Thai, I flew a B777-300ER from LHR-BKK and it was fine. I flown a few times on their A350-900 which I like better. I’m not a real snob when it comes to the soft product. Give me a flat bed with direct aisle access and I can get by.

One good thing about Thai when leaving BKK is their ticket counters and lounge are open most of the day/night. Last month, I got to the airport a little quicker than expected for 10 PM JAL flight and found out their ticket counter and lounge didn’t open until 7 PM. I got there at 6:45 so no big deal, but good to know for the future.

Anything under £2000 is very cheap. Gulf have a decent Biz product.

£2000-£2300 is cheap now and Etihad often have fares in that range.

Qatar are better than those, though aircraft can vary on the BKK flights. You can occasionally get decent fares with them - check Birmingham as well as Heathrow.

EVA would be my first choice as they are direct and have a very good Biz product. Sadly, they’ve become very expensive since Covid. They’ve been between £3200 and £3400 when I’ve looked for recent trips so I haven’t booked them.

Thai are also direct but not all that good imo. I would use them again for a decent fare but they’re a long way from the top of my list.

I avoid all European airlines as the first leg is NOT actually business class at all.
