So im travelling first time to pattaya in october. Im on a bit of budget , things just worked out time wise that I can go. I have money to spend i just cant go completely wild unfortunately

Im thinking of staying in a hostel because firstly there really cheap and secondly there easy to meet people.

But when i decide to have some fun i will book a hotel. Do you think in October ill be able to grab last minute hotels? Thanks

There will be no problem making walk-in bookings at hotels in October. Check prices with online agents such as Agoda first as they might be cheaper.

I second Davidges advice.

My example for my hotel...

The hotel "walk in price is 1100 baht per night..

I know that it is low season now so I got a great price on Agoda of 765 baht per night..

If you do the hostel option don't book it for the entire holiday as it may be noisy , dirty ...etc...

This gives you the opportunity to change mid holiday

a hostel maybe cheap but you may not get air-con, only a fan and probably no room safe, look at a place such as Opey de place in Soi Lengkee, perfectly placed for all the action and pretty sound basic rooms, even has a pool.  go direct to the hotel website you may possibly get a room for 850,  also if you dont mind noise and plan to be out till the very early hours there are a few guest houses on soi chayiapoon and soi buokao where you can get a cheap room with air-con

Cheers beet

I think you might find that there is not much difference in price between a Guest House and a hostel except that you get a private room in a Guest House.

Also many hostels in Pattaya are not the same as in other countries where there are communal areas for meeting people nor do many provide cooking areas which is also a place for meeting people.  From what I can see, some Guest Houses have decided that they can generate more Baht per room by calling themselves hostels and have people sharing rooms at a price around 500baht when it is relatively easy most of the year to get a private room in a Guest House for this price or less!

On a quick search I can only see one hostel charging 250Baht for a dorm in a six bed dorm. whereas most are charging around 500Baht while a search for a private room in a Guest House for October brings up private rooms for under 400Baht.

Yes.

I seldom travel at busy times, and seldom make bookings….. and seldom have I had a problem finding lodgings. There is always something available.

October is not in high season.

Why don't you tell us what you want to pay for your place to stay. With that we may be better able to help you and give you some tips where to stay. You also could watch this Guys youtube channel He has some videos of cheaper Hotels and Guest houses in Pattaya.

If you short time Girls, either the have in house rooms for that (mainly Soi 6) or the Girls will know a short time room near to the bar they work. No need to book an extra Hotel if you do it that way.

Very easy, I even did it in high season. Lost the key to my apartment at 2am and couldn't reach anyone. So just went to a (love) hotel across the street and booked a room for a night..

However like others said, I would seriously consider looking for a private room. They can be had for 5/600 baht a night with private shower and aircon in some guesthouses..

If your budget is low I think you can better book a cheap hotel.
You will meet a lot af people at every bar, so for that you don’t need a hostel.

and probably you will never sleep alone so need to grab every night a last minute hotel😉

If the OP can't afford 500/600bt a night for a cheap private room in a guesthouse/hotel, I think they will be sleeping alone every night, per the many recent pricing threads on here

Hey, that sounds like an exciting trip you've got planned for October in Pattaya! When I traveled to Costa Rica, I stayed at Aguila de Osa, which had a similar charm—affordable and unforgettable. Opting for a hostel is a great idea; they're not only budget-friendly but perfect for meeting fellow travelers and sharing experiences.

As for booking a hotel for some extra comfort and fun, October is generally a good time to find last-minute deals, especially if you keep an eye out and are flexible with your plans. I've found that sometimes spontaneous bookings can lead to discovering hidden gems.

Yeah , but thing is Hostels are cheap but u cannot enjoy there which is the main motivation of our visit in Pattaya . Better check some 2 star hotels in Agoda or Booking.com which is almost same price of Hostels or little bit higher and u will be able to get good rooms . So please check that in a such way u will be able to enjoy your vacation and nightlife in better way if u stick to hotel.

Still if u decided to stay in hotel , what next thing u can do is better book ST Hotels (200 to 300 baht) on days where u plan to have fun and enjoy the most.

October is towards the end of low season. You should not expect any difficulty getting a room. I prefer to travel during low season, have traveled there many times in October, and I was just there this past October.

As others have mentioned, a hostel may not be your best option. Take the time and do thorough research on what's available. I think you will be surprised what you can get for the price.

Making your reservations in advance is always better. I normally make mine a year in advance whenever possible. Sometimes it's only 9 months, but the selection is still very good. You will however notice the things start to fill up that early.
