LK Metropole Hotel

I need some advice, I am coming to Pattaya in late July for 9 days. I want to stay at the LK Metropole because of the location, facilities & amenities. It sits back off the street and it is quite, however it is still in the heart of the Soi Diana / Soi Boaukkow (sic) area. I have stayed at Areca Lodge and a few other places in this area before. Since it will be low season I am trying to get the best value for my money.

I have contacted LK Metropole and they offered me a rate of 1750 baht per night for a standard room, this was done by e-mail. I fel that this is high.

I would like to know if any board members think that this is a fair price? Do you think that I should be able to get a standard room for 1500 per night or a little less during low season ? If so how should I go about getting such a price? Should I just turn up and try to bargain for this price or should I try to negotiate this price by e-mail? Or should I go to a site such as latestay or Agoda.com. ?

Any advice or suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

Agoda shows 1535baht

asiarooms 1790baht

even the 1750 they quoted is a nice drop from 2500 i saw on LK Metro website.

i have never stayed there, but if its anything like the lk renaisance, which i know is right across from those beer bars and maybe too noisy for you, then its a bargain already.

hope this helps, and there are other booking sites to check

Great hotel and great location. I have several friends staying there longterm. I think the price they quoted you is getting pretty close to their lowest price. I had a friend who stayed 7 days over Thai New Year and he paid 2100 bt a night. I was staying nearby in an apartment and near the end of my stay I was thinking of staying at the Metropole for a few weeks. The walk in price they quoted me was 1750 bt per night, but granted that was in April. Good luck and have fun.

for the price, i'd opt for the renaissance as its a bit more newer, bigger TVs & a better bath tub :D

ps i stayed at the lk metropole in march, was a pleasant stay but the rooms did look a bit old?

I stayed in the LK Met last year. The location is great. The rooms are quite good. The pool is a little small for my liking.

Breakfast was shit.

I think I paid 1600 for it which was probably fair value.

I stayed at Lk Metropole for 7 weeks in Feb - Mar 09. I got a very good rate via another Pattaya website, 38000 baht for 30 nights in a superior room (56 sq mtrs) including breakfast which equates to about 1300 baht per night. The room was good as was the location. Oasis ago go is 2 minutes away. Good tv and cable ADSL was available in the room at a reasonable price. The room was bright , cool and quiet. Good balcony but no view of anything nice. The pool / pool area was a touch disappointing and the breakfast was average. The hotel is definitely girl friendly. There is a small gym. If you can get a good rate then I am sure you would not be disappointed with the rooms and location. I would not pay for breakfast as you can walk down the street to get better.

Like deadman said, rooms are a little run down. I stayed there in March also.

We got the room rate at 1800 in high season so its not really a drop in price that they are offering you. Id go Renaissance.

I don't buy out the bar, I buy the nightspot.

LK Metropole or the LK Renaissance are decent places. Only comment is if you stay at the Renaissance ask for a room in the back of the hotel where it's much quieter since you are away from the Beer Bars across the street. The least expensive room with a full shower at the Renaissance is their Deluxe room that averages 2450 baht per night.
