Suspect stabbed by shop assistant during Family Mart robbery.

 

In the early hours of Thursday Morning, Police Lieutenant Colonel Anuchart from Dongtan Police Sub-Station located on Jomtien Beach Road was called to a Family Mart Convenience Store located in Soi Chayapreuk to investigate a robbery which had just taken place. At the shop, the investigating Officer was met by Khun Prapaporn aged 28 and Khun Chonticha aged 20 who were both working the nightshift when two men entered the shop and approached the counter with two bottles of M150 Energy Drinks. One of the men was wearing a White Safety Helmet. As the cash register was opened, one of the suspects reached over the counter and attempted to pull the cash tray out and steal the money. Khun Chonticha decided to resist his attempts at theft and a struggle ensued which was captured on the stores CCTV system. She decided to pick up a knife which was located near the sausage counter and stabbed the suspect’s left hand a number of times. He pulled away while the other man stole 2,000 Baht in cash from the cash draw which was now on the floor. Both men left in the direction of Sattahip. This was the second time in a week that a theft had taken place in the shop and Khun Chonticha said that she was determined not to let the two men steal anything. Both men are now the subject of a manhunt at this time.
