I've witnessed quite a few incidents where motorists don't make room for an ambulance with lights and siren on. Part of the problem is too many vehicles drive here with their emergency lights on when they're obviously not going to an emergency. That generates complacency with the half-wit drivers so when there is a real emergency they don't give way.

Spacial awareness in Thais in general is dreadful. Add common stupidity, self-centredness and utter selfishness, lack of common road sense and concentration combined with appalling level of driving skills, topped-off with an overall obsession of using mobile phones while driving creates an environment of disaster waiting to happen.

In fairness there must be one decent Thai driver out there, somewhere, surely, there's got to be. Is there?

Yes, she drives the truck I ride in, your assessment of Thai drivers would also apply in the USA, come to think of it, applies to most falang drivers I'v seen here.
