Hotel suggestions?

I have been several times to CM the past months. I surely dont like the backpacker places, more precisely my eyes, ears and nose revolt, and I could not find much typical thai say in the 300-400 baht range clean room 2 persons (aircon/shower incl.). Usually I have no trouble finding such rooms anywhere. Some pointers are much appreciated, for other areas in the north as well.

 

The guide books are helpful in determining which places to avoid.

how you doin pattayadog a good site to check out is hostelthailand.com has all the cheapest guesthouses in chiang mai will be heading up there myself in september 09 great place laid back or check out the mitrapap hotel beside the night baazar one of the cheapest hotels up there enjoy.
