If you can afford the 55 a night then you have your answer.

If 55 a night strains your budget find a less expensive hotel.

March hotel is nice enough but look at D hotel for the same budget as March. It's on this side of central on the baht bus route and has a roof top pool.

I've stayed at March. Found it convenient for Soi 6 and Buakhao but not so much for WS

I'd grab Amethyst in a second if I ever see it at 55 euros. I just tried for a few hopeful dates in Jan and it was 130 euros.

Ive stayed in both many times

Amethyst  is at least 4 star, closer to  5

march is 3 star

march is clean and comfortable,

if march is worth 30 a night, Amethyst should be 75 at least IMO:ThankGod1:

its that much better

when are you getting it for €55..?

ive been watching at its always 5K baht at least on booking.com

I have a Problem..... I just can't decide if its a good problem or a bad problem...

@tobeornottobe The two hotels you are considering, well, it’s a bit like comparing ‘chalk and cheese’.

The amethyst is centrally located on Buhakow 15, and is the best four star hotel in town in my view. It really is a proper classy place. Prices vary from day today, last February I got rooms for a mate and I at around 1,900 THB, but I’ve seen the same room at over 3000.

March hotel is a good three star hotel (along with it sister hotel next door May). It’s in a different part of town, along second Road towards soi 6.

Which would I choose? It would be the Amethyst every time. That said, for around 1,000 THB nightly decent option as long as you’re happy with the location.

If you check through this section you will find that I’ve done reviews of both these hotels over the years.

If I'm a "Treetown" guy, then I'd stay at the March hotel

You probably meant Soi 6 and not treetown.

March hotel is great for getting back from treetown on baht bus but it's a good 10 minutes walk before you can catch the baht bus on Baukhao to treetown.

Thanks Lottellee. Ive decided to stay in Amethyst. However Im staying in pattaya from November 20th to November 29th and will have to find another hotel between November 23 to 26th as the prices in that hotel are very exp during that period due to fireworks weekend I have narrowed down my choice to centara areca or Arbour which should I choose.

I haven’t stayed in Arbour…but it looks very classy (it’s part of the @Mind group of hotels). Personally though I would stay in Areca in one of the newly refurbished rooms (great location next to LK Metro).

I would definitely choose the Amethyst. 😎😎

  1. Newer
  2. More comfortable bed
  3. Better pool

I stayed at the March for one night last year and found it quite worn out, leading to a restless night's sleep. The hotel has suffered during the Covid period.😪😪 (Before Covid, I was a regular guest.)

I booked the Amethyst as well for my December stay. I have stayed in March suites before, it's a pretty decent 3 star hotel and very good for the price. You cannot go wrong with either of them

I booked amethyst for my first night 2 January before moving to the hideaway for a month.
