My Day Out at the Wangnoi BKK

Played here in August Today actually a Saturday at Songkran time

Green Fee 1900 baht Caddy and Cart Included

I had never played here before but wanted to play here because the name made me laugh

Noi is small in Thai and Wang is a name for a penis in English

So a golf course called small dick it is. I would need to harness some big Richard energy as I ain't played much golf of late. I got some golf In around Songkran but that was a false dawn as I was heading home to between the job and dealing with a deceased estate would have little time in the last few months to play.

I had two games in the end of June but hadn't played much lately as it was full steam ahead on the estate issues

Up early and enjoyed the walk to the car climbing through the mud at Soi 15

Take the car for a spin up the highway past Suvarnabhumi and up north another hour to near Ayutthaya

Find the course without issue in 2 .5 hour drive

Tee off early as only myself playing and around in about 2.5 hours

So striding into the first tee I am expecting to play pretty shit. My goal for today is to break 100 so I ain't exactly got lofty goals

So being the goals were low I was delighted to walk off with 92 off the stick

The first hole the 10th on my app seen me smash the first shot right into a water hazard. Went and took a drop down there proceeded to hit the next in the water again as I didn't hit it far enough over a water carry. Go to the drop zone leave the first pitch shirt. Then over cook the next one leaving a long putt in 3 putt territory. Rolled it down for a tap in for an 8

At this point I am thinking this could be a long long long day

As for my game the the real highlight I was striking the irons well which is odd because they had been so poor in recent rounds

As for the rest of the skills.

Driver I striking them well but played like a men who had no idea where they were going

Fairway Woods were solid didn't hit many

My chipping wasn't great but that's to be expected when your not playing

My putting was ok. I left myself a lot of long putts today and had 4 of the dreaded 3 putts

I got a different putter this trip but something isn't right on the grip which I am gonna need to rectify. It's loose at the bottom of the grip so I am getting a wobble on itwhich is off putting

Highlights of the Round was hitting a 270 m drive when I found the cart path on one of the hole. Shame I had a double on it

Lowlight was really nothing. I was happy to be out there and getting a game in

Lost Ball tally was 3. Two on the first one on the 9th. With the amount of water on this course your likely to be losing a few

Course is a little gem. Some deep bunker lips and a lot of water. Would give it the thumbs up of approval
