I agree with MintyCock. I have seen the superior room for around 1,800 baht, which is what I paid in February. However, I was quoted 3,300 baht earlier this week for a superior room in August, which I am passing on. I do really like this hotel, but not for this price, especially during low season.

I liked staying in this hotel but those prices are too expensive, I got an offer on hotel.net last year (July) for 1400 a night so that’s why I stayed there but I haven’t seen that offer repeated.

 

Be careful with Agoda as they add on extra charges to the price when booking so the price you see is not the final price.

Those Agoda prices are exclusive of tax and other charges. Once the tax is added on top then it is in line with or more than latestays

That is a good point: How do you make sure you get a king size one instead of 2 single beds?

Can't remember whether there is a way to tell Agoda up front ...

You only get the walk-in shower and jacuzzi tub in their 1-bedroom suite.

 

I stayed there for this year's Songkran Festival....

 

I enjoyed my time there...nice service, quick turn around on laundry,

 

housekeeping was superb. I even did a thread on it.....

The rates seem reasonable for the next few months, but in November the rate goes way up for the higher season.

Do you think there will be any deals at TB for the first two weeks of November?

I wouldn't pay more than 1400 baht for this hotel. Stayed there before for that price. Room/Hotel was spotless but 2 single beds pushed together. TV was like a portable with virtually no channels in english worth watching and no DVD player. Great location but extra charge for internet. Reception staff efficient enough but not friendly - late night porters more welcoming and id not an issue. Great bathroom as per the pic - although lighting meant it felt dull. Huge shower and plenty of amenities soap etc etc

 

Last week I stayed in the LK Metropole for 1200 baht walk in rate - no comparison in my opinion !

I stayed in their most basic room which contained a separate walk-in shower. Also, my bed was one whole mattress, rather than two pushed together.

I agree with the reception girls lacking customer care/respect.. the gobby one with the braces kept calling my mate "boy" and he is a man in his forties lol.. one of the other girls told her off and said my mate was twice her age and she shouldn't be so disrespectful but she carried on and even though my friend waited patiently for his room (which wasn't ready) she almost threw the key at him.. I had a go at her and told her she should respect the customers and not be so rude.. she just said ok and that was that. Everything else about the hotel was cool though.

I would have to agree with MintyCock here! And will they charge extra for the Wifi booking through you like they do Agoda? Because The front desk says you do not get the free WiFi unless you book directly from the Tim Boutique website.

Front Desk staff isn't the most friendly but I imagine that they deal with a fair amount of BS so I try to cut them some slack. But, there is no excuse for being overtly rude. BTW, one time I left my key in the room and the guy at the desk just went up and let me in no problem. Kinda surprising considering I had not seen him before and he had no clue who I was.
