Na Jomtien - Preecha Seafood

I did a search of the forum and there are mentions of this place, but usually in seafood composite lists or very dated reviews.

The Mrs. and I had dinner there tonight and both of us like the place.

The Mrs and I recently bought a house in the Southern end of Huay Yai. We have been very busy getting the house turned up, but are nearing the end of that. We have made a pledge to get out at least once a week to try new places in the area. Preecha due to the good reviews caught my eye.

The format and menu are very similar to Pupen's and the Bang Saray pier restaurants. A few pics.

Fried Rice with Crab Meat - could have used a little more crab meant IMO

 

The Mrs. spicy shrimp dish - she orders this a lot and said that the Preecha version is very good - I tried one of the garlic slices. It sizzled my tongue in a good way.

 

Fried Sweet and Sour Sea Bass - several comments on this one - The fish was nicely cooked. Many places overcook a dish like this. The Sweet and Sour Sauce lacked punch. Not bad at all, but I was expecting a deeper flavor. I am hard to please on a dish like this.

 

All in all we really liked the place. It is a 15 minute drive from our house, so we will be back. Wine is only sold by the bottle. We bought a Cab for 1000 and it was drinkable. Comparisons -> We like it better than Pupens. We are debating the comparison to Aow Tallay in Bang Saray.
