Bar inspections continue on Walking Street

In an ongoing programme to crack down on bars operating illegally without licences, an inspection was made at a number of entertainment premises along Walking Street in the early hours of 7th April. When Police Major Chalermsak Tiensritong and a team of officers paid a visit to the Lucifer Bar things were not to their liking. Not only was the place operating well past closing time, they discovered that the licence had expired. Things got worse when during an ID check a number of foreign customers were observed to be in a drugged condition and later proved drug positive when given urine tests.

It could end up in a trip to Soi 9 and a night in the cells, followed by a fine

The rule is we should always carry some form of ID whether it be just a colour photocopy of the relevant pages of passport

Advice from the UK government web site:

"By law, tourists are expected to carry their passports with them at all times in Thailand. There have been incidents where tourists have been arrested because they were unable to produce their passport."

It will all calm down. This is the usual Police flurry I expect. A few bribes here and there and it will soon be over.

IF ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL WHERE IS THE REST OF MY PENIS?

They are just cracking down at the moment because of the up coming ASEAN conference.

Once that's gone i reckon it will settle down to business as usual.

Pain in the arse for the bar owners and any farang caught in the crossfire at the moment though.

Would they accept a UK driving lincnce which has a photo on it. So yopu would not have to carry your passport with you.
