Best Night life location Chiang Mai?

I haven't been to Chiang Mai in a long time. Last time I stayed in the old city. Not ideal. This time I'm Looking for an area with easy walking to food and drink, comfy bed, about 1500 / night.  Last time, the more I could avoid the Tuk Tuk's the better.

Check out Loh Kroh road, just off of the moat in the old city, go most of the way down (eastward) and on your right is an entertainment complex with some bars and a boxing ring. 

Raming Lodge Hotel, good, in Loi Kroh Road. about 300m to Old City. Ten minutes' walk to Night Bazaar area. Many restaurants, bars, MP's inc one dead opposite the hotel, 120THB for 30 minutes neck and shoulders in recliner at front.
