I plan to stay in Suk Soi 2, less busy than hotels on Soi 4, but easily access to Soi 4 bars and NEP via Shama Sukhumvit Apartment.

Three small hotels, Icon, Surestay Plus, Solo, are similar in price (about 2000 baht), size, and all have a roof-top swimming pool. Has anyone stayed in any of the three hotels. Please share your comment and experience, or a comparison, which one is better?

Stayed twice in hotel Icon pre-covid. Nice enough room (I didn't mind the fact that my room looked out on the building next door). Enjoyed the rooftop pool, which I had to myself when I used it in the afternoons. They took ID's from my overnight guests, which I didn't mind. Ate lunch in the lobby restaurant one day with a friend. It was good but not fantastic. Mostly I liked the hotel due to the close to Nana location (at the time you could walk through the Rajah hotel parking lot to Soi 4), while still being quiet. Also I'm not one to mind making the short walk down to Sukhumvit from the hotel.

I've stayed at all 3! These are exactly the kind of hotels I usually book and I'll be at the Surestay before I'm off to Pattaya next month!

The Solo 2 is a bit of a walk from the main street and last time there (2019) it was starting to show its age a bit. The rooftop pool is good and I believe is open much later than the other hotels on the street but still it's not as nice as the other 2.

The Icon is the "trendiest" of the bunch, but I think the Surestay is actually a bit nicer and has an equally good rooftop pool. That's my pick of the 3.

I have also stayed at the Novatel & Ibis Styles (right on Soi 4) and the Citrus 6, all in that same range (the Ibis Styles is cheaper than the Novatel but you get the same rooftop facilities which are fantastic and the rooms are still solid). Not to be confused with the dumpier Ibis on Soi 4. Despite being steps from the thick of the action I found the Ibis Styles/Novatel and Citrus 6 to be very quiet (the Citrus upgraded me to a HUUUUUUGE suite that had a laundry machine even) which was awesome, the rooftop pool was a bit of a letdown though.

Just my 2 cents, but you're not going wrong with any of these but the Solo 2 didn't leave me excited to come back.

I'd go with the Surestay if you're set on Soi 2 since you've been the Icon. I've also stayed at the Hilton Doubletree across the street which is extremely nice but on my own dime I'd take the Surestay or Icon over it any day.

At the end of my trip I'll be at that Ibis Styles just to change it up.

Ok this is an ancient thread, but I just discovered Suk 2 as a quiet, residential area yet close to Nana. Prices are very reasonable. I'd had a 2 night booking at Ibis Styles on Soi Nana, but the cost was $40 higher than iCheck Inn Residential hotel on Suk Soi 2. Given that I never use hotel pools or Gyms, and all I require is a clean, quiet, comfortable room, I cancelled my booking in favor of the iCheck Inn. Anyone stayed there? Has an 8.5/10.0 rating on Booking.com and even has a free one-way Tuk Tuk to the main street until 8 pm at night which I thought was a nice touch.

Aspen Suites is close to the iCheck Inn and has more amenities, like a pool and a gym, but seemed to have slightly better ratings as a guest friendly place and for being quiet. Light Sleepers of the World, Unite!

It looks pretty quiet and sedate. Not fancy like the Ibis Styles, but I'd rather have USD $40 more in my pocket saved on a 2 night booking and go with a good 3 star hotel. Really don't think I'd enjoy staying directly on Nana, even if the rooms are quiet inside. I kinda find Soi Nana itself to be sensory overload and too gritty for my tastes. Appreciate the action, excitement, and proximity to Nana but prefer staying in a less active area.

The iCheck Inn is literally right next door to the Solo.
