Aside from rattle snakes in very small pockets of Southern Prairies, Canadians have very little experience with snakes, but I can tell you something like that above or some of the snake stories that hear out of Asia/Australia does get my attn.

Have a rather privileged friend in Hua hin who has one shack right on a golf course and she was recounting a story a few months back how a young guy had a box in the back yard that he went to move into the garage.  I guess there was a snake in it(not sure what kind), it bit him and he was dead within an hour.  I am sure these are isolated events, but would really like to see no snakes on trips in pattaya other than the one I am trying to feed into the mouth of a lucky TG - lol.
