Simple question to what I am sure is a difficult circumstance.

Slightly different in that my girl is Malay but I figure it would be similar to a Thai girl....actually, if anything, I may have a slight advantage in that she is Malay with an education and decent job, ie; not a Thai bar girl.

She is visiting soon. She now lives in KL again, after spending a year here working on a sponsered visa through here company. This time she will be visiting on a tourist visa.

My question - if I was to marry her while she is here, would it stand and would it mean she could stay while she applies for a PR?

If not, what are the best options?

I would suggest contacting the Immigration Department just after she arrives and discuss your options with them. They may take a dim view if you married her while she was on a tourist visa as you and her would be abusing the tourist visa system. They would think, quite rightly, that you planned to do this when you applied for the visa. The visa was then obtained fraudulently.

 

If you want to do it properly you need to get a fiancé visa. You can find details of in on the Immigration Department’s website located here.
