Obtain Thai visa for Tanzanian citizen in Philippines?

I posted this on the Philippines addicts board but haven't received any responses as yet.

Probably because it's a bit leftfield!

I'm copying it here in the hope someone has some thoughts.

Firstly, I hope I'm posting this in the appropriate area?

Secondly, I've never been to the Philippines before.

I live in England & hold a UK passport.

I've been to Thailand a few times & am considering visiting again with a Tanzanian girl I've got to know.

This presents a few difficulties.

Tanzanians must have a tourist visa (max 15 days) to enter Thailand (as I understand things)

There is no Thai embassy in Tanzania to apply for a visa.
The nearest is in Nairobi!

So, this is the long-term plan  (spring'24) I'd like some input on.

Take my first trip to the Philippines, both of us arriving on a weekend on the same Qatar or Emirates flight.
We can both enter visa exempt I believe.

Visit the Thai embassy on the Monday & submit the visa application.
(I realise I'll have to time my visit to avoid the many holidays the embassy has scheduled.)

Go off somewhere nice for a few days.

Return to Manilla, collect the visa, fly off to Thailand for 2 weeks.

How feasible is this?

I guess there are agents who would be able to make the visa application a whole lot easier?

Recommendations welcome. Along with recommendations for a beach location to spend some time with a girl.

Many TIA.

At the moment visitors to Thailand who require  a Visa on Arrival (Tanzania Inc) get a 30 day stay until March 31st. Extending this till the end of the year is being discussed, but unlikely to go to 2024.You will get 45 days. If this suits, no need to go to the Manila embassy.

Lodge forms before 12noon on day 1, collect after 3pm two working days later

I have had a Visa from there many times, as has my Filipina partner. They want quite a lot of info, financial, hotel bookings, ticket details etc

I suggest you provide a covering letter as you will be regarded as 'sponsoring' her if she has no money, assets etc. This should briefly state your relationship, what provisions you have made for her (travel insurance) Attach a copy of  your passport, bank statements etc) Give them too much paper rather than too little. I have never had a refusal in the ten years I have been applying following this methid

Thanks for the response.

As far as I'm aware VOA isn't available for Tanzanian citizens?

They must acquire a tourist visa from a Thai embassy, which is valid for a 15 day stay within the 90 days for which the visa is valid.

A postal application is out of the question as most Tanzanians don't have a postal address!

Your dealings with the embassy sound promising in that they seem time efficient. I wouldn't want to have a  processing delay which might scupper flight & hotel bookings I would have made in relation to the visa application.

Just perhaps a silly question:

Why carry sand to the beach?

I could however understand if you invite your black beauty to the UK.
