Do most Chinese tourists need any special care? They don't get drunk in rowdy bars. They don't hang out in shady nightspots. LBs don't tend to approach them. For the 99% on package holidays, they aren't even allowed to bring guests back to their carefully chaparoned hotels. Every time I even see them on the street, they are always in a mob of 10 or more, usually with a guide. I'm fairly sure such large groups can defend themselves if needs be. So I'm guessing this is just a hollow PR spin statement from the tourist police to encourage the Chinese to come back to Thailand?

How about the safety of us BMs?  When these groups are following the guy with the flag, it is nothing but stop and go pedestrian traffic.  I can tell you how many times these people PLUG Walking St.  Reminds me of the baht bus traffic trying to make the turn at WS.
