For medical gear, is Thailand a better deal than elsewhere in the region?

Thailand versus ASEAN alternatives? 

I mean price and selection for health and medical equipment and supplies (CPAP specifically, I am thinking, but in general is useful to know also).

If you move around in the region, say in Singapore (top end), Malaysia (decent value) and Vietnam (cheap, but uh...cheap), is there some huge advantage of buying medical equipment in Thailand? Based on experience and the past duties, taxes or tarrifs on electronics I presume the opposite is true. KL beats BKK for computers. So, maybe the same is true for medical equipment. So, perhaps shopping is best to hold off. Prices for anything imported from USA or Europe seem outrageously high to me.
