My Day Out at Pattavia Century Golf Club

Caddy/Cart Included. 

 

Had booked a tee time during the week from Thailand via phone and got me booked in for an 8:50am tee off.

 

Now I had a bit of a scenic trip to Pattavia Century and ended up in butt fuck nowhere due to Google Maps having a moment and not really giving me the most practical route 

Arrived after the 1 hour drive from Pattaya turned into about a 1 hour 30 minute trip as I seen some Thai country side to get there. Go pay money and headed out on the course 

Due to my late arrival I was hurried onto the tee as they wanted me to go before the Golf Bars who were locked and loaded so I was hurried onto the first tee

Tee off and around in about 3 hours as today as the course was well patronised 

Had a great run on the front nine but the back 9 was a bit of a disaster as the groups on the 10th hadn't hit off yet so I got pushed to the 13th and played to the 18th before coming back to play 10 to 12 

First time here so was playing blind 

As for my golf game I play off 13 so was content with 91 off the stick around there.For whatever reason I just couldn't get the game going today 

 

Had to give the caddy the 100 baht on the first Par 3 Missed the green chipped on and missed the putt for a tap in 4 

 

Highlights of the round would be the way I played the Par 5 6th. Good solid well played Par 5  but missed the birdie putt

 

Lowlight would really be chipping off the 2nd and 3rd greens. My fault as I didn't really assess the down grain down hill slope. After the first two times I did take this into assessment and didn't do it again. It was an error that once you looked at it a second time from the correct angle you could easily see the error of my ways 

Also the 18th. A par 5 I got a great tee shot away absolutely creamed it out of the middle leaving me just on my limit of making it for 2. I loaded up and hit it left of the green. Then thinned the pitch 40 yards over the green. FMD. So Frustrating this game when your pitching on from around the green hoping to knock one close to give you a make able birdie putt then you are not even getting a par for one bad shot 

 

My putting was not great with 36 putts today but was one of those days where I just didn't really feel like I was reading the greens well 

My chipping was not good enough today and cost me too many shots 

My driving today was handy again finding the fairway around here a lot. Once again didn't really take advantage as I then missed a lot of approach shots 

 

Today was one of those days where I just left a few shots out there. Putting wasn't good enough chipping was good enough either and I didn't find enough greens. 

Doing these 3 things won't see low scores 

Course is a bit rough around the edges and looked like it could do with some rain. Happy to have another crack at it in the future though

I enjoy Pattavia, due to play it two weeks on Monday.. normally in good nick so sorry to hear it was rough around the edges.

When I played it in November it looked a little short of rainfall.

Was rather odd as I played at Greenwood the next day which is in the same area and it was quite green and lush. 

This place just looked brown and dry in comparison
