Koh Samet Recommendations

Recommended Posts

I'll be traveling to Koh Samet soon with a lady friend.

Any recommendations with regard to a hotel, restaurants, etc., would be greatly appreciated.

Thank in advance...  🙏

I've only been once a few months ago and stayed at the silver Sands.

Really nice hotel, rooms were a good size and very well decked out.

Location was good as it's right on the beach and has a good restaurant and bar on the premises. A short 2 minute stroll took us to a few cocktails bars etc and a further 10 minutes walk there was a large strip of beach front restaurants.

Recent reports are pretty rare. Hope you'll update your experience.

And, yes, Silver Sands was good when I was there. Been a while, though.

Was there in May 2022 and loved Samet 2/3 nights personally is plenty… it’s super chilled which is what I required. I stayed at the Sai Kaew beach resort. Good location and the beach wasn’t busy at all. I suspect now it will be much busier.. As for food all the places along the beach are much the same but I never had a bad Thai meal…

Samet is defo a beach body kind of place I found everyone was up super early and in bed by 10/11pm which is a nice change of pace.

I’m visiting again 2-4th Feb and am trying another part of the island The Lalune beach resort at Ao Wangduan just to check out this beach area. If I enjoy my stay and I’m not ready to leave I’ll extend it by a day..

One thing I learnt was I went last time on my own and I do enjoy my own company but the evenings can be a little boring if sat having a beer on your own as it’s mostly couples.. this trip I’m taking a lady friend who I’ve known for 7 years and is good company.

Have a really enjoyable time, for me it’s the best of the islands when going from Pattaya, close, peaceful, nice hotels and not massive like Koh Chang.
