hi

been watching a few youtube vids about the markets out on past  soi 8- the jomtien night market / miami market and big market with decent thai meals around 60 baht and am wonder what there is for cheap eats near jomtien sign  / Dongtan Beach end.

JOMTIEN NIGHT MARKET KING PRAWNS AND RICE ONLY 60 BAHT https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxnBZo49qCxS3COyOqIh8nvcFX5sBCjKNX

i am familiar with area but not eaten that end since before the plague could of course just hump on a baht bus but that adds 20 baht in to the cost- still may work out a cheaper option than eating in places around the sign end but am a cheap charlie from Yorkshire 🤣

thanks

There are several Thai restaurant/shops under the roof of the Rompho Market that serve hot food made to order and open in the morning until mid afternoon. In the late afternoon until around 10:00 p.m. there are over a dozen hot food carts in the Rompho Market parking lot with portable tables and chairs for customers. Both are close to/in the OP's price range.

Every hole a goal.

Condoms kill boners. Save the boners.

Stop the Vagilantes.

You could walk there in 15 minutes, then back saving the 20 baht and getting some exercise!

The shore side of Beach Road is literally lined with everything from Street Food to more expensive fare. Pre-Covid, there was a lot of covered areas with restaurants with Thai Food at AMAZING prices. Soi 2 down to Soi 6 should let you find anything you desire. This is Pre-Covid Intel, so if this is no longer the case, someone please correct me.

Will be there late July to early September and plan to do a trip report solely on Jomtien, sorry I can not give more current info.

+1 on this one....

Delicious....

Agree--its a bit small and always full in the daytime. I think it closes fairly early in the evening.

I was in Tiger Noodles today, they must have changed the menu as I found it very pricey as basic Thai eateries go. Chicken Green Curry 140B, Lap Moo similar & a 2 egg & bacon (nearly needed a magnifying glass to see the bacon), & Toast breakfast 180 B (no tea or coffee included). The bill was expensive for three of us. Nice people running it etc but at those prices I won’t be going back as too many similar style restaurants with cheaper prices.

At soi 7 on the right-hand side just after the entrance from Jomtien Beach Road, there are two simple eateries. The one closest to Beach Road sells pre-prepared cheap Thai food. The one next to it focuses on noodles. I come here sometimes, especially when I sit at Pupay bar which is right next door and see a pretty Thai girl  who comes there for lunch.

The "Thai Food Good Taste" restaurant has relocated to SOI 4, just past Stefan's guesthouse.

Didn't know that, I'll have to go visit. Kiss on 2nd road Pattaya was one of my fav haunts for years. Good menu, good prices.

After reading some great reviews, I visited the Gold Monkey on the corner of Chaiyaphreuk Rd, just off Jomtien Beach Road. It was early evening and they had their Specials on for 149 baht. It changes every night and tonight it was the choice of lasagne or spaghetti bolognese - I went for lasagne. I love lasagne and I know a good one when I see it.

It was outstanding, even better than the lasagne at The Nest (my previous fav) on Soi Diana.  The portion is on the small side but that's standard in Thailand, I could easily have eaten another one it was so delicious.

And for 149 baht, that's amazing value (It's 250 baht at The Nest). I saw a YouTube video about the Gold Monkey where they had it on for just 99 baht - incredible.

I'll be back for sure :ThumbUp6:
