New Dentures

Recommended Posts

I will be traveling to Pattaya in February and was wondering if anyone would know approximately how much an upper denture would cost and a possible recommendation of a dentist?

I hope I put this in the correct place.

Bangkok Smile Dental Clinic has branches in both Bangkok and in Phuket.

Specialises in treatment of farangs.

Web site has comprehensive details including examples for wide range of treatments.

You can email a specific query and get a cost estimate.

In general terms, costs are about one third of Australia. I am not familiar with prices in USA but am confident you will find Thailand offers a big saving, perhaps even enough to cover your airfare etc.

This is about $US 650-830.

A recent quote I received from Dentist at the Beach for this procedure.

Below is estimate price and we charge only the item that required in treatments

- Full removable denture  18,000 THB

- Tooth extraction 1000 THB @ number of tooth

-  Full arch suture, alveoloplasty, alveolectomy, x-ray and medications around 5000 THB

Ideally, patient should do tooth extractions and wait without teeth a month for wound recovery and gum harden in order to take mouth impression of a denture mold. However, most patients don’t want to live without a teeth. so, we will do mouth impression before tooth extractions and compensate space of the denture. Total take around 10 –12 days and you will get a denture after tooth extractions done but denture must be reline or adjust after gum fully heal in the future.

I am also curious whether any board members have had this replacement and recovery time. I am planning on a three week visit and would hope to avoid follow up enquiry with a dentist in Oz if avoidable.

I have used this dentist on prior trips and have been very satisfied. I believe they have also been recommended by other board members. On this occasion I had x-rays from my local dentist which I forwarded when seeking their opinion on replacement of the upper fangs.

There appears to be a dentist operating with a similar name. The one I used is referred to as Dentist@Beach so apologies for my mistake above.
